6. I have to agree that Jupiter actually orbits the sun: The sun once believed to have a gravitational influence of 100,000 astronomical units. Now however we know that the sun actually have a gravitational influence of 1 light year: 5,878,000,000,000 miles. If Jupiter had a mass that could significantly pull on the sun, then why is mars a planet? Mars should be a moon of Jupiter. But the theory isn't far fetched: Jupiter is after all just short of being a brown dwarf star. If Jupiter had several more jovian masses it could have started its own nuclear reactions, and our solar system would have become a binary system.
7. The definition of a planet should be relative to what we're familiar with since "planet" is a manmade word. 1. revolves around a star (a given) 2. is not a moon (a given) 3. something relatable to man.. such as "1000km diameter" or "10% or greater of our earth's gravity" Something like that.

15. We can see billions of years into the past using the hubble and keplar observatories, but we can't see more than 9 planets in our own solar system? This is the enemy of common sense.

16. I think the following properties could be considered for the definition of a planet
    a) It must orbit around the sun in a nearly circular orbit
    b) It must be large enough to be nearly spherical in shape
    c) The center of mass of the spin with any of its moon must not lie out side the diameter of the planet itself,
    Under this classification: Pluto will not be a planet because it violates two conditions.
    On the other hand Eris could classify as a planet if we know about its orbit and its spin .
