Despite the criticisms of the SLS, I do hope that it follows through. It seems like SpaceX will have its hands full with colonizing Mars to a point were the SLS could have a very nice niche supplying unmanned materials to low earth orbit for an interplanetary space station and construction of moon bases. Basically providing the infrastructure while the ITS transports the initial colonists.
It will really get interesting when Blue Origin adds their mega lift rocket to the equation.
