nice video, gave me some things to think about
-
Now make a video on how the "universe is controlled by a computer" and state that it's wrong or right.
-
The cosmological argument is proof that the Flying Spaghetti Monster created everything. He boiled for our sins.., RAMEN!!!
-
Strawman.
Nice going, Einstein.
The argument is like this:
1-Whatever begins to exist has a cause
2-The universe began to exist
3-Therefore the universe has a cause
Where the fuck is God mentioned?
Now to point out the obvious, the flaws in you so called reasons:
1- Correct. No theist says that if X begins, God must have made X. That is stupid. My laptop wasn't made by God.
2- Red herring with presenting God of the gaps argument. This has nothing to do with the cosmological argument.
3- Attribute it to whatever you want. I don't care. As long as that entity is necessary, transcendent and some other stuff.
4- Stupidity at its finest. God by definition is uncaused. He exists necessarily. Read a basic book on God and His attributes.
5- Your statement doesn't negate the fact of a caused universe.
6- No one is arguing that.
7- If you can have something from nothing, then according to this flawed and unsound logic, God can come from nothing. Moreover, the "nothing" of quantum fluctuations, isn't really nothing. It is a sea of energy. Energy isn't nothing. -
You know after much thought about death, given the resent science about the soul. I doubt we honestly go to live on forever but I think we do go somewhere, I don't believe in immortality,
but I do believe in rebirth who to say such a place as hell and heaven exists. Honestly I believe we are born again, but not in the same place, I think we are born once more we retain the knowledge we had with are life but can only earn it by proving are self's worthy of that knowledge.
Honestly life is noting but a trial who to say we have the right to have a heaven, why would need a heaven if we can learn from past life's we could make something better than that. -
I think the universe was created when God farted. :l my opinion tho.
-
if god created the universe who created god. if the universe created you then who created the universe?

Has anyone followed the link to Dr, Shaym's facebook page. His credentials for all of this heavy philosophy is that he is a comedian. His posts on FB are mindless. So why is anyone listening here? But a quick look at the comments would indicate that he is speaking to the right audience.

It is odd you still get the cosmological fallacy rearing its head. It's trivially wrong. The premise is simply an assumption.
-
just to knit pick, but Zeus and Odin did not Create their worlds, they are not Creators as much as they are Rulers. after effects of higher beings creating the universe, or at least the planet.
-
Where did you get those straw men from? I don't know of anyone who argues the cosmological argument like that! You havent engaged with any proponent of the argument or even represented the argument accurately. No one places God into a gap. It's a positive argument constructed from analysing what a cause of the universe must be.
All of these objections have been countered ad nausia. The least you could do if you were going to respond to an argument is make sure you actually understand it first.

tide goes in tide goes out, you can't explain that shit

The dogmas of both the church and the lab will be the death of us. Each is so prideful that they relentlessly cling on to what they know and won't let anything new be spoken. The church claimed that maggots in meat were formed by abiogenesis, until after years of fighting science showed them how stupid they were being.... Today science believes in abiogenesis in the form of the primordial soup; wouldn't it be wise to at least be weary of the past and not be so adamant about our theories? Both the church and the lab have a horrendous tack record of ignoring innovation. For a stupidly controversial example take evolution. There is way to much evidence piled up for the church to claim that evolution doesn't exist, in at least some form. Yet they continue to deny it. Likewise, there are a lot of flaws in the theory of evolution as we know it, the most prominent of which is a solar system that does not support the millions of years evolution takes; yet scientist are reluctant to revise the theory as a large part of it makes coherent sense.

I love the smell of liquid ass in the morning

A question, Dr. Shaym. You seem to be doing this video and the last video you created a few months back focusing on Christian dogma and biblical beliefs. Are you planning on questioning the ideals put down by people from other religions, or are you going to focus on Christianity only?
-
What happened to the "Dumb youtube comment readings" Dr Shaym? Now he only makes videos supporting athiesm. (Not anything wrong witbeing an athiest, but we should all keep our opinions to ourselves, that goes for religous people too).
