Why Is Brahma Not Worshipped?
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Hinduism perceives the whole creation and its cosmic activity as the work of three fundamental forces symbolized by three gods, which constitutes the Hindu Trinity or ‘Trimurti’: Brahma - the creator, Vishnu - the sustainer, and Shiva - the destroyer. Brahma, the Creator: Brahma is the creator of the universe and of all beings, as depicted in the Hindu cosmology. The Vedas, the oldest and the holiest of Hindu scriptures, are attributed to Brahma, and thus Brahma is regarded as the father of dharma. He is not to be confused with Brahman which is a general term for the Supreme Being or Almighty God. Although Brahma is one of the Trinity, his popularity is no match to that of Vishnu and Shiva. Brahma is to be found to exist more in scriptures than in homes and temples. In fact, it is hard to find a temple dedicated to Brahma. One such temple is located in Pushkar in Rajasthan. Please dont mistake me for what I am. I am just trying to analyse the fact on a nuetral perspective. While I have earlier watched a video promoting Islam I have heard someone saying that followers of Brahma are the followers of Abraham actually. I think what he said might be justifiable because he also said that the first letter a of abraham was removed and put on to the end changing ABraham to BrahmA. So putting these things together I think earlier Shivites and Vaishnavas where there in India where both of the groups thought their god was supreme. Then followers of Abraham has come and Shivites and Vaishnavas have decided to put an end to the worship of Brahma. Either to not get involved in an unhealthy fight or to make sure they are not being blamed in the future for destroying the worship of Brahma later (probably during the Hindu revival movement ) Hindus might have decided to keep on recognising Brahma as a main God but to make sure that Brahma is not followed again causing a threat to others believes and this section of the mithology is inherited from the mythology earlier written by Shaivites.
I doubt if actualy in the old days if Vishnu was believed to be the god of good/civilised/preservation and Shiva to be believed as the God of Evil/Hunter Gatherers/Destruction. Because I just think like how good could be a god of destruction be afterall. Lated after the spreading of Buddism the knowledge of such a past might have been forgotten and during the rebirth or revival of hinduism the old tactics used to unite shivites and vishnavas against Abrahams people might have been used and Mythology might have been rewritten in a more harmonious form. Anyway the mythology regarding this part of the past might have been inherited from Shivites having stories of Shiva as the alpha among the trinity and all.
Anyway these are just some assumptions of mine I had during my leasure time. No people need to be offended about this. Afterall this is all just a comment. -

Good video again!!

Brahma is still worshipped in Gujarat.....
people always look at things in positive/negative sense.... hence importance to Vishnu/Shiva is given too much....
Brahma is mostly associated with Yagnas.... these have reduced in time & hence people don't see doing poojas to Brahma...
all three are equally important.... -
Good video again, are there any other good stories relating to Shiva and Vishnu or there incarnations like this one related to Shiva primarily that you can do or will do in the future?
