What Type Of Batteries To Use For Solar
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
In this video, I explain what type of batteries you should be using for your solar panel system. I will go over 4 different types of batteries: sealed lead acid (car batteries), flooded lead acid, lithium ion, and deep cycle.

now the lithium batteries is widely used in solar system. in my factory www.3ybs.cn you can see lots of models for solar system, all these lithium batteries are with traditional lead-acid batteries. anyway, more lighter weight, longer cycle life, it's the trend to use lithium batteries instead of the old

Great info I like it so much that I am a new subscriber .thank you!!

Sonnen? Enphase? You have not talked about any Lithium batteries at all.

You can use small Lithium-ion battery charger that plug into your 120 volt power inverter, that powered from your solar deep cycle lead acid battery. For now, you can use regular 12 volt car battery, however must monitor with digital volt meter during solar charging. Use amp meter in between your solar controller to your + side of car battery. Alway disconnect your power after your solar charging. On next day later, your digital volt meter (no load) it tested at 12.6 to 12.7 volt. Yes, deep cycle battery is alway better way to go. You are right about, never directly charge from solar to your tiny Lithium-ion battery.

You didn't even mention Lithium phosphate. It is far better than lead acid for solar. My old system was agm and took till 1pm to recharge. My new lifepo4 system recharges by 11am

A lead acid battery has a charging efficiency of 45% between 80 and 100% soc. They are not suitable for solar

Is it possible to connect a separate backup battery to a off-grid PV system? This backup battery is not directly wired to the main battery in series nor parallel, but instead acts as the the source of power for when the main battery needs to recharge after meeting its max depth of discharge. Would that be possible? I’m asking because I read that batteries is not able to power a load, even a small one such as a phone and charge itself through the solar panels at the same time. I need my PV system to be able to provide me power for most of the day almost everyday of the week. I only need 200 watts of energy on a regular basis and I’m currently determining if I should use 2 100 watt solar panels in series or 3 100 watt solar panels in series. Thank you so much for your help!

hi I am using six.8volt golf cart batteries tie together to make 16vlt for sum reason my charge controler is reading full when they r not
-
lithium solar batteries are already available, like victron energy lithium ion phosphste

i want to share my system. 3 hour run time. light weight , super portable. features super charging system. Since power is always critical, i managed to charge the system in 30 minutes. I will be adding 2 more batteries very soon to reach up to 6 hours. xD Hey.. nice setup you have there.... https://youtu.be/daB_83CBck4

Just about the best video out there explaining the different batteries out there for solar, without getting too bogged down in technical details. Thanks!

are the marine deep cycles ok to usewith the ah rating or are they still along the lines of a car battery

http://www.samsclub.com/sams/duracell-golf-car-battery-group-size-gc2/prod3590228.ip Is this the kind of battery your talking about in your video?

Where did you find those Golf Cart batteries for $80 bucks?

I was planning on buying a Optima d34m blue top deep cycle as a house battery for my small rv that would be charging via the alternator for now and adding a 300w solar at some point later. I'm a newbie here.. would a series of a few golf cart batteries be better? I have enough room. This would be mainly for keeping a laptop charged, a 32"lcd tv running, a few small led lights and to power a small microwave a couple times a day... any input would be appreciated. THank for the will it solar videos!

hi, is it ok to use 2 12v together with different amp power?? i have a deep cycle sealed lead acid batteries?
-
Using lithium batteries with my solar system with great results.

i have repaired sla's and there just not worth the time unless its something like 27ah or above but even then its still not but i the ones i did repair i have 80% of there capasity now and i use them with my inverter

Hello. I just have a general question for you. I am renting an apartment, and I am thinking about the best way to install a solar panel outside. The problem is how to run cables into the apartment from the solar panel into the rest of the equipment. I mean it is ok to do it through a window over the summer, but when winter comes... Can you please give an advice? Thank you!

Thank You for this video with good information. I have a question, You talk about a small solar system and a large system, Please explain. I am very ignorant on solar systems and trying to learn. Thank You for your time.
