People ask all the time whether the money we put into space exploration actually helps us here on Earth. Is it worth the money we’re spending? Trace takes a look at a few recent projects that are helping people here on Earth as we speak! Peace on Earth would be a good mission ,guess they just don't have the brains for that yet .
-
I once heard about a planned mission of the early 90s and late 80s called CRAF that was to visit an asteroid before flying alongside a comet and releasing a Lander. This was later accomplished by ESA's Rosetta, but CRAF had a much more amazing design and would've given us the wonderful info Rosetta gave us almost fifteen years earlier. Instead we cancelled it to save Cassini. Many disagree, but I think the idea of a comet orbiter is more useful and interesting than a Saturn orbiter.

I'd like to see their faces when they find out the truth. NASA is lying all the time. And for this they receive billions of dollars.
-
Basically the point of space travel is "hey let's come up with this ridiculous goal and get the best scientists in the world to invent all the new technology that we need to achieve it so we can then use that technology to make life easier on Earth later on." And it WORKS.
-
NASA really needs to start, not just "developing" new spacecraft, but actually launching them, and in my opinion, all of the world's space programs need to start working together if we ever want to even think about getting to Mars. If we wait any longer, nasa will delay the asteroid mission until 2095.
-
Of course its money well spent. God knows whats out there beyond planet Earth. Possibly in the future with the advancement of technology we can unlock many lifes mysteries with exploration of outer space.
-
Why do they PAY for the spaceships? If they are helping advance humanity, why would they need to pay? Or at least get a discount, and if it's the workers that want the money, I say this.
"You work at NASA. You get paid for everything you do, but helping advance humanity(apparently)will make you say, 'Where's my paycheck?' so why do you need more money, you're probably rich.
Can someone plz respond, I want to practice my debate skills. -
We cannot explore space, cos we have never been there, science proves space travel is rubbish, you idiots are just way to stupid to do you'r own research. NASA admits space travel is not possible!
-
New technology and products are produced daily without money from nasa all these inventions where around before nasa put there name to them. You still didn't answer the question of why we need space exploration, I do think it's a huge waste of time and money seeing that there is so much on earth that is yet fully understood or oceans unmapped. As for plants and animals being used to help disease I think this is the way money should be spent.

talking about developing a software and displaying a css code is whole different thing

If it wasn't for the Apollo missions and held calculators would never have existedin the 70s and would be in their infancy today. Meaning they would be clunky and very expensive just like they were in the 70s..

i always thought having a spaceship rear to be a giant magnet with another magnet run pistions up and down to make it move one backwards pushing the ship forward is a great w2ay to have unlimited power compared to using fuel or air was a good idea.on another note why not boil sea water to create steam to make fresh water in massive silos to refill our rivers and lakes I mean we have so much sea water why not it would reduce sea levels giving tsunamis less power to roll over us and then all we would need to do is re freeze the north and south pole with 80 per of all the copper around the world run off giant power plants to re freeze the noth and south pole to reflect the suns rays back to space cooling the planet we can do all this 3rd world problems fixed but the powers to be want half the population dead first

THIS IS CRAP, satelites i can agree with but, all the technology we "discovered" going to space could of been developed not wasting tons of money going to space!! i agree that many awesome technologies could be developed going to the harshest place known, but let me ask you something... wouid u spend billions or even just millions of dollars going to the moon in a dune buggy in order to discover better road tires for here on earth. Lets put things into perspective here people. Just bc some exists now doesn't legitimize its existence or make it 'right'!
-
satelites probably
-
Get a colony on the moon...then more people would care.until then...meh.
-
Bullshit!
-
the question often is: but how does this help starving people?
-
If someone asks this question, walk away, they're too stupid to be alive.
-
all the stupid people that says space exploration is useless should be killed
