What I learned from going blind in space | Chris Hadfield
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
There's an astronaut saying: In space, "there is no problem so bad that you can't make it worse." So how do you deal with the complexity, the sheer pressure, of dealing with dangerous and scary situations? Retired colonel Chris Hadfield paints a vivid portrait of how to be prepared for the worst in space (and life) -- and it starts with walking into a spider's web. Watch for a special space-y performance. Love this guy
-
He inspires me so much. I am a very careful and OCD person who has taken very few risks in life, with a dream of travelling all around the world. Right now it seems impossible but listening to him makes it sound more approachable and gives one courage.

Oh man... the Bowie song is making me misty. Wow, great TED talk.
-
If you listen close enough you can hear the people sob when he starts singing
-
Why do we all remember the Johnson Advert though ?
-
I admire this guy's public speaking skills.

Can someone help me out with this question? When the space shuttle took astronauts to the space station, did it stay there the entire 6 months? or did the old crew leave asap? And was there 1 main pilot that stayed on the shuttle there and back or was the shuttle controlled by nasa back on earth?

hey I just went to space. Hold on let me make a video of my ship entering into the orbit under 1000+ tremendous heat with no air condition. Yep yep . You should come watch my video. I made one that people thought it was completely true. I edited it from a few programs and made it look so real I actually got a cell call from Nasa. ROFL!!!! Hold on I am going to let you meet the alien I was friends with also.

I want to go into space one day, but I also want to help the creatures of earth first, and build a big nature reserve on each continent so that all the creatures of the world would be safe. I may also have a rescue center at each of them. To help the sick or wounded animals.

"Should we see if Chris wants to come with us?"
"Naw, bro. I can't listen to anything about space today." -
this made me emotional, especially when he started singing
-
It's crazy how different he looks in his ISS videos, I'm guessing it's to do with the gravity taking its toll on his face? Haha
