About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Ever wonder what seasons are like on other planets? Astronomers are beginning to find out, and SciShow Space explains how they know, what causes the change in seasons, and what "summer" might mean on distant worlds. ---------- Like SciShow? His math is wrong, or his writers /editors suck.
The earth is tilted 23.5°. That tilt processes in a 360° circle.
360° / 26,000 years = 1° / 72 years.
23.5° / 26,000 years ≠ 1° / 72 years. BIG DIFFERENCE! -
There are no other physical planes other that Earth. Definition of a planet (wandering star) not terra firma. Sorry, we've all been duped.

What's a balaclava?
-
I've always wondered how the Game of Thrones world's seasons could last for more than a year. Unless George R. R. Martin had a different explanation.
-
Fiction? It'll be Centrium. largest habitable planet. Tilt is 24.67. So it's just like Earth except Size and mass and density. Size is 2x Earth.
-
Wait I'm confused about the 1 degree every 72 years thing. Does that mean seasons were less or more drastic in roman/biblical times or is that just a variance and it comes back? I'm confused.

keep makin good videos

something like the Heliconia?
-
kepler 413B's axis wobble because it has no moon.

I'm the 6,300th Like, Yeah!
-
just for clarity, when comparing the uranus and nepture they said tha uranus tilt at 180 deg and lasted for 48 years while on the other hand in this video it says 42 years so which is? if i'm not mistaken. . . . . . thanks ^_^
-
Planets could also have an eliptical orbit around their stars to have seasons...
-
42 years of winter? I would die!
-
Damn! 2300 light years away!
-
Crazy seasons? Try living on a moon with tilted and precessing axis of a planet with a prolonged elliptical orbit around a variable star!
-
What about HD 189833b? It has strange seasons.... Don't get me started on the weather there; its rains LIQUID glass SIDEWAYS at 7,000 km/h!
-
42 years of winter??? no hot summer in more than half my life time.... HELL YEA!!!
-
0:30 They should name the planet after Michigan. Because that's literally our weather in a nutshell!
-
''Don't get me started on Uranus'' made me giggle :D i love these videos :)

Imagínense ustedes si nuestro planeta Tierra tuviera 42 años de días estivales y 42 años màs de noches hiemales en cada hemisferio, austral y boreal, como en Urano.
