The actors were directed to speak in a flat monotone to illustrate the director's idea that due it a saturation of technology humans in the future would become bland without hardly any personalities. The computer HAL was intentionally depicted as the only character that had any personality at all. I don't know who this Wes Anderson is but I'm guessing he's today's intentionally bland pop icon.

That was brilliant!

anybody know the first song that plays?

Very funny, but 2001 was created by Stanley Kubrick, not Wes Anderson

What's that last song that plays? It's irritating me. I'd usually just try and find it but I can't make out any of the lyrics, apart from ''ooooohh oooohhh'' which isn't any help. Haha.

This is brilliant!! The way you can completely change the plot and the meaning with a bit of editing and alternate music. This is the type of video that actually makes me want to watch the film as it is presented here.
