We chose to focus it on whether the immense influence of these powerful astronomers had a positive or negative effect on the future of astronomy by researching into theories that were ahead of their time, as well as ones that were incorrect and misled many others. The film is a voice over that explains both sides to this argument over a time lapse of our drawings onto a blackboard. We chose this method of presenting our ideas as together the audio and visual elements in order to engage the viewers with both factual information and graphical links. The video begins by explaining where the word astronomy comes from, and then delves into the two arguments as well as famous astronomers. We have then chosen to include footage of footsteps with the audio for the Apollo 11 radio communications during the lift off, to question how progressive the astronomical steps of the Ancient Greeks were to modern day exploration. We hope you enjoy watching it! --- By Rinda Naresh and Sharuka Ravichandran (Notting Hill & Ealing High School) The views and opinions in this film are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of any member of the Faculty of Classics, University of Cambridge.
