Human life seems reduced to insignificance when set against the vast nearly empty spaces of modern astronomy. But before the modern era, the universe appeared much more comfortable and accommodating, thus medieval European cosmology placed the Earth in the center of a small spherical universe surrounded by the abode of God. In this study we will explore the early centered conception of the cosmos from India. Cosmology is defined as the study of the origin, purpose, structure and functioning of the universe. Vedic cosmology gives a vast amount of information about not only the structure of the phenomenal universe, but also a clear idea of the source of the manifested universe, its purpose, and the subtle laws that govern its operation.
