Uchuu Senkan Yamato Opening
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
The opening to the 70s anime series Uchuu Senkan Yamato (Star Blazers). It is the opening of the subbed version. This anime was said to have started the golden age of anime(basically it was what got people into watching it). Uchuu Senkan Yamato is a really great anime, and I suggest you watch it.

Am I missing anything by watching the remake over the original series?
-

We're off
to outer space,
we're leaving
Mother Earth,
to save
the human race,
our
Star
Blazers!
Searching for a distant star,
heading off to Iscandar,
leaving all we love behind,
who knows what dangers we'll find?
We must be strong and brave,
our home, we've got to save,
if we don't, in just one year,
Mother Earth will disappear!
Fighting with the Gamilons,
we won't stop until we've won,
then we'll return and when we arrive,
the Earth will survive with our Star Blazers! -
CHILLS
...seriously, I'd somehow never heard the original version before now. (The English version of this was remarkably faithful.) -
Lel, imagine the kancolle version of this. UCHUU SENKAN YAMATO!!!!
-
Any idea where to find Japanese version of this with English Subs?
-
Loved it's remake (2199).
-
Apparently right-wing nationalist groups in Japan drive around neighborhoods in black vans blasting this song, LMAO
-
This is fantastic!! I had only seen the original growing up, watching it as the US-dubbed Star Blazers, so to see this original Japanese intro is a special treat! I like how some of the scenes involving the ship were later CGI for the 2199 reboot, namely the first half!
-
the one, the only, the classic
-
13 Gamilas don't like it :v
-
I always thought the cuneiform roman lettering was a cheesy western thing but there it is in the Japanese opening.
-
I like both, this and the 2199 version.
-
epic!
