No PPE and she pushed too much air in 😱Gravity feed!...... This was painful to watch.

I agree with most of those comments below. I fed my Mom for about a year on two occasions during the twelve years of caring for her and this is not the way I did it either. Gloves were not a concern in this case, only clean hands but all the other things mentioned below are right on. Plus I can't imagine trying to pour the liquid into a syringe, already connected to the open tube and just hold it. It would have been some mess since I was doing this while she was bedridden in tight quarters. First there wouldn't have been any pressure to encourage the fluid to flow into the stomach, only gravity working for you and sometimes that is not enough. After flushing the tube I filled the syringe and yes made sure that I went from water to nourishment sans a tube full of air, by clamping the tube after flushing, before it was empty. And I used the syringe as intended for the Ensure gently by gently pushing until the stomach took the 8 oz can. No rush. No discomfort. I used to feed Mom 5 times a day including a 4 am feeding in very low light, without even waking her. She never experienced any digestion problems so it wasn't necessary to sit her up though some patients may need to be upright for 20-30 minutes.

This video is ok. Good to share. Gloves? Really even at top hospital nurses never use gloves for feeding what more home feeding. Just ensure everything is washed clean sufficient. This is feeding via PEG not through tube in nose, no need to check for placement to ensure tube did not moved out of proper position. A bit of air is unavoidable and is harmless.

Absolutely incorrect. Do not rely on this nursing (or healthcare) students/workers.

no gloves!!
-
AAH so much wrong with this, no gloves worn during the feeding, didn't check placement or residual, way too much air going in
-
Too much air if we force the remaining inside. Flushing should be enough to push the remaining liquid food I guess
-
I have a brother that has a g tube
-
Never checked placement or residual? what kind of training video is this?
-
There is far too much air going in :/
-
Not correct
