Always loved the design of the Eagle transporter and it's role as the functional work horse of Moonbase Alpha. Way back in the 70's I was lucky enough to visit Gerry Anderson's Space City exhibition in Blackpool where they had examples of the studio eagle models used in the show. A real treat to see!

where do you buy all your star wars figures, I can never seem to find them, if you could reply that would be good

I am so happy I have the regular and rescue Eagles from PE. Mad at myself for not getting the other four variants at the time. I so want a Science Eagle, the VIP version and the two cargo versions.
One work of warning. Be very very careful when handling these with the cargo pod detached. At that point the only thing supporting the ship is the somewhat fragile plastic spine. One of mine cracked a bit and needed to be glued just from light handling. These really are display models, not toys. -

I have never seen one second of this show in my life. when I was a kid I watched re-runs of star trek and then when I was six star wars came out and that became my obsession for about 30 years. I might try to find it and see if I was missing something special.

The Gold one is very limited 22 carat gold plated, about £799 upwards.

I have quite a few of these that I bought at the time. And yes they were about £30, mine still have the prices on. Best buy in a while, currently they are going up of £200 - £250 but that's a bit steep. I got mine at a Blake's 7 convention oddly enough.

I have the gold version! I wish I'd picked up the regular version! The eagle is also my favourite space craft design!

I was too young for the show but bought one of those 70's Eagles a few years ago after I remember a mate having them as a kid and I always wanted one despite my Star Wars obsession!
Must watch the show. These Product Enterprises look superb but I doubt I would fork out £100+ for one.
Great review as always, cheers. -
Great review. I had all the original space 1999 toys as a preteen. I had the Dinky's (Most of the Gerry Anderson stuff) and the Mattel 3 inch figures with the big Eagle. I also had the 8" figures and the gun and communicator toys. All lost to an unfortunate accident along with nearly every toy I had collected from 1967 to 1977, comics too.

Very good review, there was so much good about space 1999, I wonder how influential if was in future sci-fi, on to other things any Planet of Apes in your collection? Trust your well, Cheers, Fuzz.

Thanks for the Upload :)

I never could understand Corgi reasoning for painting the eagle green with red engine bells, did they ever see the show? Or were they just color blind?
