This musical video is based on Two Computer Simulations of the Universe carried out by the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Garching (Germany). You can read technical details on the MPA web page entitled "The Millennium Simulation Project": http://www.mpa-garching.mpg.de/galform/virgo/millennium/ 1. The First Simulation shows the dark matter distribution in the Universe, zooming from scales of some Gigaparsec (about ten billions of light-years) to scales of 10 Kiloparsec (over 30 thousands of light-years). 2. The Second Simulation presents a journey through the Universe, by flying around clusters of galaxies and travelling a distance of 2.4 millions of light-years. Totemtag wants to thank Max-Planck-Institut für Astrophysik in Garching (Deutschland), and in particular Prof. Volker Springel, for giving me permission to use their computer simulation for my musical video. Such computer simulations are probably the best ever done in the world. The music is highly hypnotic. The first shorter part is a plain electronic/cosmic symphony. The second longer part is based on three soft chained and growing electronic sequences. Headphones are absolutely necessary to hear this song. The intent of this video of mine is double: 1) to bring people to the knowledge of astrophysics and cosmology and to the scientific method; 2) to visualize, love and live the cosmic beauty (and its scientific intelligibility) in which we are all immersed and that we forget too often.
