It makes you realise just how much time has passed since this was filmed in the mid 70s as so many of the cast have since passed away (a fair number at quite an old age). I was a teenager at the time this was new and scarily am a pensioner now. Where DID the last forty years get to??............................

@waverly24 Hey waverly24! I too rushed home every saturday afternoon just for space 1999! The thing with the Commander?....did he EVER make bad decisions???? LOL! He always had something going on in his head that we were not privy to it seemed. He was the hero of the show. truly. And I simply loved the John/ Helena story....still do! ha! thanks for watching and commenting...most appreciated!

Makes me happy and sad at the same time. When I was a kid I used to stop everything I was doing when this show came on--Cmdr. Koenig/Martin Landau influenced me quite a bit the way he made decisions (good or bad) and stuck with them. Good show, and a fitting tribute to those who have passed on.

And yes...I had forgotten that there were only 13 channels...actually 12...as the first one didn't work!! HA! forgotten that! Hope you have a better day at work this week! I remember this when it first started I was 12 years old. We would meet over at my friends house and watch it every Saturday at 4pm. This was back when we only had 13 channels on the boob tube and no computer. We even pooled our legos and built the moon base and a few eagles to fly around the base. What great memories. What a great vidio to add to youtube, it brought back so many good times I had as a youth. Thank you, I had a bad time at work to day. You have put a smile on my face again.

yes they were NOT big stars but they helped up believe in the story that way being told. But a big thanks goes to you. Yes you for taking the time to help us remember them. You took the time to put this video together. Wonderful job. Thank you for taking the time to help us remember that you don't have to be a huge star to tell us a story.

@mrtrek64 WHAT? of course not! Barbara Bain, Martin Landau are still active in hollywood and making movies! I have not followed the beautiful Catherine Schell's carrer...but she is still alive...as is Zenia Merton, Prentis Hancock, Nick Tate...and the rest of the cast....I was showing all those that have died since being on the show!.....It will be a very sad day for me to hear of the cast regulars passing...for sure! I hope I won't hear that news for a very long time yet!!
