Most people don't seem to understand that a scrub is a broke man. The song literally says “sits on his broke ass.” I love this song because not only is it catchy it also perfectly represnts how music, fashion, and style was during the early 2000's era. But this song gives a message of a woman expecting a man to spend money on her which is something I do not agree with. So the song is saying “I won't be with a man who doesn't have a lot of money.” But if you look at it another way, no one likes the idea of being with someone who is an underachiever or unsuccessful in life.
