Theoretical Physicist Finds Computer Code in String Theory

Working on a branch of physics called supersymmetry, Dr. James Gates Jr., discovered what he describes as the presence of what appear to resemble a form of computer code, called error correcting codes, embedded within, or resulting from, the equations of supersymmetry that describe fundamental particles. Gates asks, “How could we discover whether we live inside a Matrix? One answer might be ‘Try to detect the presence of codes in the laws that describe physics.'” And this is precisely what he has done. Specifically, within the equations of supersymmetry he has found, quite unexpectedly, what are called “doubly-even self-dual linear binary error-correcting block codes.” That’s a long-winded label for codes that are commonly used to remove errors in computer transmissions, for example to correct errors in a sequence of bits representing text that has been sent across a wire. Gates explains, “This unsuspected connection suggests that these codes may be ubiquitous in nature, and could even be embedded in the essence of reality. If this is the case, we might have something in common with the Matrix science-fiction films, which depict a world where everything human being’s experience is the product of a virtual-reality-generating computer network.”

We don't live in a computer program, we invented math ourselves

computer code is a binary string that fits into a processor; pretty unbelievable if he found anything like that in nature, but obviously the actual claim is "i was searching through string theory equations and i found logic and algorithms and was working with binary or boolean values". not amazing compared to the computer code claim, guy

what if Jesus (the bible) is analogous to Neo (the matrix)?

you KNOW you're saying some shit when you blow Dr.Tyson's mind!
WHAT a badass! -
he finds computer code in the equations we use to describe the known universe. of course he does.. this really isn't astounding. i mean why would it be. if we see the world as a mathematician everything is formula and equation. this knowledge is universal and constant based on the work of past mathematicians(more to it, just super simplifying). understanding the correlation however is where the interesting part will come in; and where they will earn their Nobel awards. what they have so far is fascinating but not surprising. and to all those having an existential crisis ..get over it. none of these scientists are denying God. Its just with their extraordinary minds their concept of "God" may not be exactly as yours.

When aliens ask us to show them what we got, we need to get schwifty right away

4:37 Can anyone spell out the word for "graphical representations of sets of equations that are based on codes"

Except the higgs bosons mass doesn't match supersymmetry. Its somewhere between multiple universe, and supersymmetry

5:10, actually concept of time is easily simulated in video games by 1sec, 0.1sec and sometimes even 1ms "ticks", using recursion... if we invented such a mechanism, why couldn't universe :)?

so does this prove an intelligent designer?

These scientists only challenge each others thinking because they're a bunch of ignorant morons. If they want to challenge ideas, why don't they challenge the idea that challenging ideas is how you do science? For example, instead of challenging Gate's matrix theory so rashly, why not try and see things from his perspective so you can add to theory instead of take away from it? Firstly, he's downplays in the aptitude of the Gates' discovery, rather than encouraging it. Since when has doubt become the bedrock of rationality? I'd be willing to bet that if they all worked on the same hypothesis rather than different ends of the same subject they would come to conclusions about string theory a lot faster and more efficiently than if they were to continue with their current ways.

The fact that anyone would try to Reject alien theory just means they either have never done math....or they are purposely
rejecting to hide the truth.
