The Ultimate Proof of Creation - Dr. Jason Lisle, Part 1 of 2

On Friday, April 10th, 2009 Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship ( http://YoungEarth.Org ) welcomed Dr. Jason Lisle from Answers in Genesis (http://AnswersInGenesis.org) . Jason has been a long time member of RMCF and has spoken here while he was pursuing his Ph.D. at CU in Boulder. Most practicing astronomers and astrophysicists believe in the big bang, a billions-of-years-old universe and other evolutionary ideas. But based on Scripture and the best interpretation of the scientific evidence, they are simply wrong, according to Dr. Jason Lisle. He is an astrophysicist with a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Dr. Lisle is now helping AiG (and the creation movement as a whole) refute the evolutionary account of origins—using his strong science background. He also has designed exciting planetarium programs for the Creation Museum (http://CreationMuseum.org ) in Northern Kentucky (near Cincinnati, Ohio). Now residing in Northern Kentucky, Dr. Lisle lives just a few miles from the border of his state of birth, Ohio. He grew up in a Christian home, and because his family believed in the authority and accuracy of the Bible, he had little difficulty in dealing with the evolutionary bombardment he received in school. At the university level, Jason discovered that an important element in scientific study and the drawing of conclusions was this: that scientists usually are not aware of their presuppositions (i.e. they interpret scientific evidence in light of their existing worldview). It thus made it easier for him to see that intelligent scientists, many who were his professors, can disagree on what the evidence really means, for they have different starting points. So as he read creation materials, he could see that when the evidence was properly interpreted, it always supported the biblical account of creation (even with the thorny question of starlight and time). In graduate school, Dr. Lisle developed a passion to share the message that God's Word is true from the very first verse. He began giving talks encouraging people to trust in the Bible and not compromise with the secular ideas of millions of years of evolution. Dr. Lisle has always had a keen interest in science and enjoys reading books on a wide range of scientific topics. Astronomy and physics have been areas of special interest. One of his favorite hobbies is viewing the beautiful night sky through a telescope. In graduate school, Dr. Lisle specialized in solar astrophysics. His areas of interest in creation studies are in developing models of cosmology and stellar aging. Creationist thinking in these areas is still very preliminary. No, I understand..this is what Jesus said too. "Do unto others as you would have them do to you"...
-
Science does not say there has to be a god. Can your provide a source for that?
-
since science says that there has to be a god isn't is kinda a follacy to call yourself an athiest.
-
At the U of Colorado "he earned a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Astrophysics. While there, Dr Lisle used the SOHO spacecraft to investigate motions on the surface of the sun as well as solar magnetism and subsurface weather. His thesis was entitled “Probing the Dynamics of Solar Supergranulation and its Interaction with Magnetism.” Among other things, he discovered a previously unknown polar alignment of supergranules (solar convection cells), and discovered evidence of solar giant cells."

What kind of doctor is this guy?
-
scientists don't base their claims on their world view ( or at least they should not) they base it on evidence.
-
Imagine that! The same one who used DNA in his creation of plants and animals also used in DNA in his creation of people. What are the chances?
-
So god created the man from dust and the animals were done a day before just like that... So apparently from a biblical point of view, we are completely different than animal... However the science provided evidence that we have DNA and this DNA is also found in all living organism. Another remark, animals were created by magic and we were created from dust... I don't know what you think about that, but we look like garbage...
-
But why is a god automatically necessary for the natural world to function? Science is neither viewed through a biblical nor an atheistic view; it is viewed through an objective lens and arrives at conclusions based on the evidence gathered from experimentation and careful observation. The assertion that people cannot come at evidence with a blank slate is simply wrong, being objective and having a blank slate is the same thing. When I have evidence, I neither criticize religion or support it.
-
Just testing to see if I'm still blocked for posting facts
-
One can only hope...
-
No. All the kinds of animals were created on the 5th and 6th days of creation. Humans were created on the 6th day. The animals were given the ability to vary greatly, but can never become another kind. For example, you may see many of what humans call species of dogs. But they are all the same kind - dog. But you will never see a whale become a cow or a dinosaur become a bird. That is not because there are limits to the genetic variation because than information is not available in the DNA.
-
So just to understand correctly all animals and humans were created at the same time?
-
So they're going to be baked into loaves of bread?
-
So if God exist, & God did it, How can scientist ever come to the knowledge of Truth, if they exclude the possibility of God before they start interpreting the evidence, & What wise man wouldn't consider God exist & he may have given him a hint or full blown account of how he did it & Consider that possibility & see if the evidence fits, I think God pointed out only Fools can not see he exist by whats seen in his creation !
-
how have scientists demonstrated evolution?
-
That's not true. It assumes God doesn't exist or has no effect at all on the universe. The purpose of it is to attempt to replace God.
-
No that's the complete opposite of religion. A naturalistic worldview means that you're making no assumptions about whether God is orchestrating anything and you use only evidence and logic to make conclusions. That's how scientists have demonstrated evolution, and it's how scientists have postulated many other theories that led to cars, computers, modern medicine, and all the other things we enjoy today. Science should always use a purely naturalistic worldview, not a religious one.
-
The basis for assimilating the notion of assumptions is not simply a way to support God. It is based on simple fact, without God you have no absolute truth and therefore nothing you say can be based on preconceived facts or truth. Thus laws, morals, etc... are made by man, who creates his own truth; therefore your truths mean nothing to another and likewise. Without absolute truth is it wrong if someone is beaten and robbed, or abuses a child? Without God why should anyone care about you?
