The Purpose of Life and Evolution is to "Become like God" - Ray Kurzweil
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
As we evolve we become more intelligent, loving, creative and beautiful, so actually we are moving exponentially to have greater levels of the very properties we ascribe to god without limit. But we never become literally infinite but we are moving exponentially in that direction so that we become more God-like. Evolution is a spiritual process that moves us closer to God - Ray Kurzweil Other Related Videos - Does the universe have a purpose or meaning | Michio Kaku vs Richard Dawkins Debate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmkrI-K7yBo Does the Universe Have a Purpose? feat. In hinduism becoming like god is called self realization, which helps you attin nirvana or moksha.

Well obviously this is somewhat opinion based, I'm afraid people will take this as fact or suddenly take his ideas because he is a knowledgable man, he is just saying God did it because he doesn't understand it, which is ignorant to say but I don't care what he believes. What I'm saying is, is that throwing around opinions with no back up of evidence is sketchy because people with believe him, when really it's just his opinion, nothing shows God is real so don't just assume you can take science and say it is because of God because that is quite selfish and now others will start to believe him

When I was young I believed in God. I shed tears and prayed to him. I grew older and my beliefs faded... not quickly. I believed less and less until I decided to place my faith in intelligent man. I believe in something greater than us, and I believe there are forces we don't yet understand and maybe even life beyond our comprehension. But I don't think the answer lies in a book, or church. I don't believe in a 50 foot bearded guy in the clouds. God is a goal, not an origin. We look for it in ourselves, and in our universe. But not as one being, but moreso something to push us further.

Jesus Christ: "I Said, 'You Are "Gods"; You Are All Sons Of The Most High.
Do You Not Know That You Are The Temple Of God And That The Spirit Of God Dwells Inside Of You?'" Is It Not Written In Your Law, 'I Have Said You Are "Gods"'?
"The Kingdom Of God Is Within You"!

This is morally offensive. The myth of a god is creepy and harmful.....I would never, ever want to be anything like the god of any religion. If you're going to assign a false teleology to Life.... it should be to be totally unlike any god from any religion. Flee in the other direction and run.

How can you become God. There is only one God. And God wants me to relize that I am not the center of the universe. Nor can I ever be as perfect as God. Let alone compare myself or my succesing offspring to thee God.

6:10 The last couple minutes are worth a replay.

Nobody can become like God bless you. Nobody has that kind of senses in the world and it is impossible. it is a kind of paradoxes. Maybe humans have brains but doesn't mean they are god . humans are humans and will be.
-
This is pure nonsense. He isn't basing his assumptions on anything but other baseless assumptions.

Wait, why does he believe in miracles? Explain like you would to a drunk person (asking for a friend).

Hello! I have made my first science video on my channel
"Could a Supernova shower Earth with it's remains?" -
Haha the "debate" of animal consciousness.... which proves only the intellectual shortcomings of the consciousness of those who think there is room for debate there...
-
Not in all the traditions. In the old testament God is described as genocidal, petty, vindictive egotistical nutter.
-
Consciousness is not mysterious its just undefined. If you base your morality around consciousness you need to say what it is.
-
If I destroy the property of someone that really couldn't care less, they are very rich indeed and the damage is something they get one of their servants to fix, is that immoral? not by your argument :-)

Evolution is a spiritual process that moves us closer to godliness*, not closer to a god.
-
God does not exist. Never has and never will. God is an invention of man to explain the shit he does not understand.
-
God doesn't exist yet. Evolution (biological and technological) is God creating himself and the universe is the womb.

Hundreds of years have passed and the only widely accepted response to the teleological argument is an appeal to infinity or to the multiverse. The crux of the argument is that the law of large numbers explains how finely tuned the universe appears to be. Now imagine Ray is right, and the end result of evolution is godhood, wouldn't that have to have been true in other universes? And so at bare minimum the likelihood Atheism is right is bounded. Its lower bound is the teleological argument, in the event the multiverse doesn't exist or is too small and young. Its upper bound is the probability that gods or a God would have emerged in a universe prior to our own. If you take Ray Kurzweils argument seriously, the probability they would have emerged already is high.
Also the bible doesn't say the soul and consciousness are the same thing. What classical era societies called the heart(not the organ), and the mind, and soul are described as three seperate but related things.
"And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. "
"22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: "
True immortality is a gift that was promised to the elect by that which created us, the immortality Kurzweil promises is a trap that marks the beginning of the end. -
