NEW: Solar System 2.0!! http://youtu.be/mvgaxQGPg7I Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jHsq36_NTU More info: http://www.djsadhu.com/the-helical-model-part-2-our-galaxy-is-a-vortex/ Download the sound track for personal use: http://www.djsadhu.com/audio-video/audio-production/djsadhu-enter-the-stream-mp3-goodie/ Notes & comments on this video The Milky Way - The Milky Way itself travels through space at appr. 600 km/s - The image used for texturing the Milky Way is NOT a picture of the Milky Way. There are no pictures of the outside of the Milky Way. - There could either be a black hole or a central sun in the center of the Milky Way. I went with the texture image and made it shine. - A complete revolution around the galaxy takes 226 million years - Do not confuse the Galactic Plane with the Galactic Equator: the Sun never "crosses" the Galactic Equator because the Sun is always on the Galactic Equator, by definition. Precession cycle - One precession cycle takes 25,920 years - Since one revolution takes 226 mln years, this would mean that there are appr. 8692 precessional cycles in one revolution. In this animation there are only 60. Scale & distance - the Sun is 109 times bigger than the Earth. If this animation was to scale, the planets would be invisible. - Our Solar System should be a gazillion times smaller compared to the Milky Way. If this animation was to scale, you could not see the Solar System, the Sun or any of the planets. - The software used to create this animation is unable to work with extreme sizes and distances. Sound & music - The sound track is called "Enter The Stream" and I created it specifically for this animation. You can listen to it on my website: http://www.djsadhu.com/audio-video/djsadhu-enter-the-stream-instrumental/ More info & reserach at http://www.djsadhu.com/the-helical-model-part-2-our-galaxy-is-a-vortex/

Is your website offline?
-
love it!!!

I wish you would have shown the actual milky ways` motion over billions of years along with the other galaxies , if , in fact , we even possess that knowledge (?)
-
energy-electrical waves is the answer to every qustion
-
i get that galaxys flatten out because they are spinning and stretching like pizza dough but why dont solor systems flatten out? why do they drag along the sun?
-
This is a really nice animation. It doesn't represent how the solar system navigate thru the milky way, but there is a lot of good ideas here to show other complex 3D motions.
I can only hope you will invest time to imagine how atoms looks like at the quantum physics level. -
Fake imaginary cgi for 8 years old

Depending on your view you might see this, but from behind or in front, its helo , obviously.

Sounds good, many questions though. Tough to understand the way our Solar system works.
-
Are we certain of our solar system's angle of attack as it travels around the galaxy? Might we just as easily be traveling "edge on"..?
-
So, this is an interesting concept. I get how all the planets are helixing around the sun as it travels through space. But what is the entire solar system orbiting around that makes IT corkscrew through space? Sun systems don't just naturally travel in large circles as they move forward, creating their own helical movement. There's got to be some gravitational source our solar system is orbiting, in much the same way our planets are orbiting the sun, and all in that helical style.
If this video could've enlightened viewers on that detail, it would've been great. -
let us proclaim the mystery of our faith

So We are riding on a Cosmic Shotgun Blast..

as above...so below!

great rep!

Good music

To all of you idiots arguing in the comment section, don't you know that the Earth is flat?
-
After watching this video, I'm even more confused about our orbit around the sun.
