He was one of the twenty Soviet Air Force Pilots to be chosen for the first cosmonaut group. Originally, his historic walk was supposed to have happened on the Vostok 11 mission, but as that was cancelled; it was later performed on the Voskhod 2 mission instead. After eighteen long months of training for the event, Leonov was ready to become the first person to walk in space. Just shows that even if a government is a piece of shit, there can be some extra level bad-asses in the country.

poor dudes!
I watch Russian fail videos. The Russians and their military seem to struggle with timing and spacial orientation.
Carelessly killing off their own people seems to be the rule rather than the exception. -
orienting not orientating
-
SOUNDS LIKE AN AWSOME MOVIE SCRIPT ....
-
Wow. What a clusterf**k. It sounds like the Russians really didn't have safety anywhere near in mind as high a priority when they were working on their space program like the Americans did. It seems like a lot of safety stuff was half-fasted for the sake of speed of getting the damn things off the ground to beat the Americans. At least in their early space program.
-
3:43 orientating?
-
the space craft looks kind of surprised...
-

Ground Control to Major Leonov...
Can you hear me, Major Leonov? -
Wow.. Mad respect for those guys, that shit was hectic! Imagine having to deal with all that shit after the hectic space ordeal.
-
Really wish more of this was taught in schools. The cosmonaut program was amazing but I've only ever learned of most of it very recently on my own.
-
I was expecting someone st say "Neil Armstong was the fist to space learn your facts loser" (In a nerdy voice)
-
