The Cosmological and Fine-Structure Constants
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Physicist David Goodstein, and astrophysicists Neil deGrasse Tyson and Roger Blandford briefly discuss the renewed interest in Einstein's cosmological constant, as well as recent evidence that the fine-structure constant might actually be changing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmological_constant http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fine-structure_constant The complete video of this discussion can be viewed here: http://www.researchchannel.org/prog/displayevent.aspx?rID=3807&fID=1688

Surprize, surprize ! The creator is tweaking the cosmological CONSTANTS of our Universe.
What does he have in mind? -
The full video doesn't seem to exist anymore or has been made private. The Research Channel is apparently defunct. It would be nice to find a copy somewhere.

Although some findings show the “mysterious space” of the fine-structure constant has an arrow (of one dimension) it is more often still called a dimensionless constant in describing it's connection with the 4 forces thereby avoiding the need to explain the problem an arrow introduces. A single arrow here is disastrous for any reasonable explanation of free-will as a natural force itself vs the observer just chasing carrots out of hunger. However using the phase timing of Mass oscillation in two opposite directions shows Nature has split the arrow of time in two sepperated by the space of the fine-structure constant which is a tiny worm hole that sees more time come back in needed for the force of gravity than it measures going out which makes sense since time IS increasing and here it can be seen as a result of the asymmetry of the weak force.
But rather that argue over it the needed equation that shows the fine-structure constant is the result of a ratio can be expressed e {a}/t=hv (or e t/{a}=hv in opposite phase) which adds a second reverse phase arrow needed to explain why in function it appears as a "dimensionless constant" when in fact it is 2 dimensional with the second Mass oscillation direction added. The fine-structure constant equation using the value of weak force asymmetry is simple to express mathematicly but to understand it requires seeing the picture as it is, not as being taught with an atom of three parts oscillating in space relative to time. The graviton and its reverse oscillation 4th phase is misnamed the "hole" and was discovered before the electron but it's reverse phase direction was never added to the atom despite Einstein screaming something was missing. So they invented dice and virtual time and particles to fill in the missing gap eliminating gravity.
The only reason the crippled standard model can work is because when you say EM you are really saying the electric force phase and the 4th phase of gravity combined. Gravity is the result of the 2nd harmonic being bigger than the first and {a} proves it over and over again wherever it is applied to. Not just to CERN's Sept 2011 neutrino data @ (v-c)/c=2.48e-5 sec in 453.6 miles matching Stanford's SLAC E158 weak force asymmetry data showing a gain of 2.48e-5 sec in 453.6 miles creating the needed additional harmonic comma space @ .20e-5 sec in the proper phase timing. -
Hey, I'd really like to find the whole video but it seems like researchchanneldotorg is no longer available. Such a great topic!

Our universe is doomed- DOOOOOOOOOMED!
-
if it is a constant change then it is still constant.... If you are driving down a hill gaining 10 mph every 30 seconds and 1 minute and 30 seconds later ur still gaining 10 mph every 30 seconds its a constant change in speed
-
Thumbs up for the idea Neil deGrasse Tyson has at the end there.

Thinking about the changing of the fine structure constant I wonder about the effect on the number of elements in the periodic table, and how they came about, variations and mutations in evolution, and many other things that depend on the electron as well as how this reflects upon the big bang theory and the expanding universe, can't wait to hear more about this
-
Not only is the constant changing, it also has an axis, the alpha reading is much larger when viewing objects (distant quasars) in the southern hemisphere than in the northern. J.K Webb discovered this a few months ago
-
the only thing that is eternal is God, who created the universe
-
Yeah...
-
Umm... if the 'fine-structure constant' is changing, doesn't that mean it's NOT a constant?
-
Whitehead would have loved to hear this. No laws, only habits.
-
have you ever seen a person that didnt change over time, dose nothing change over time, dose evrything change over time, just look to nature, evrything changes over time thats natural, nothing is constant.
-
the more that things change the more they stay the same...

i have made several vids on this fine tuning and multi univeres shit its all crap its just a young understanding of new information, dont read more into it than maybe we live in a universe, well duh yes i think we do, otherwise were the fuck do we live, its all smoke and mirrors, and some pot or drink induced randome shit, well duh i knew that from the age of 8 ffs, stop telling me crap get on with science and find out the almost truth, please, shit makes sense, doh.....
