There's an alternate take of this that youtube pulled. While I like this, the outtake is better, with much better vocals.
-
la chanson la plus touchante de l album.tres bonne prestation de carl wilson.tres sombre.the sky turn in grey!oh yes!!
-
Side 2 of Love You is the best thing ever
-
Carl sounds so great in this.
-
i don't think there's a better example of a song perfectly capturing the feeling of longing for someone. this record is highly underrated in my opinion, the highlights are some of brian's best work.
-
I bought this record at a thrift store for a dollar. What a bargain. I've played this album so many times.
-
Masterpiece
-
Love Carl's vocal on this one... especially when he sings "liiiiie" and "hihiiiide"
-
@peterp21 Nonsense, Brian's post-Smile contributions were strong. 'Til I Die, All I Wanna Do etc. are good examples.
-
Incredible song. Right up there with the best Brian compositions.
-
Always loved this song, not a boring moment in it.
-
This is a song off of the last Brian Wilson master piece. OH WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN

This is great song and a track on Side 2 and the second song...listen to the harmonies, the different voices and the production - I'll bet nobody can do this stuff without studio trickerly...very cool...listen to the whole album, then judge, yet BE judged! The Mace

Reprise Records didn't promote the album much, because the Boys were leaving them for CBS. We will never know, but I believe this could have been a hit single. I consider it as good as "Good Timin'" (which ALSO didn't get the attention it deserved, but is an absolute jewel) and this song is evidence that some of the best Beach Boys songs were written by Brian Wilson alone.
I understand why some criticize the album - Peter Bagge is a very articulate fan/critic of the band - but this truly is an album overflowing with love. Thank God for Brian Wilson! -
this is actually pretty good
-
a great album yes, but it is certainly available elsewhere. I just bought this at a record store a few days ago! And I'm pretty sure the entire Beach Boys discography is available on amazon or ebay or discogs if you wanted to find it.

I love this song. Especially the little couplet that doesn't go where you expect it to. "It's three o'clock, I go to my sink, pour some milk and I start to think" How cute is that?
-
so this is a genuine beach boys recording, not a cover? also what album is it off of?
-
well put.
