That's a tricky one to play

Hmm. Well, I'm gonna try again -- just 'cause I'm not sure why my citation of the time during the recording didn't work. The time being 1:48 - that's when the (to paraphrase) "roller-coaster into the deep recesses of Brian's subconscious that would become SMiLE begins".
You know, the one where, right at the stepping-off point, he flattens one bass note, and just to demonstrate it wasn't a mistake but exactly as he frickin' LIKED it, proceeds to flatten the next one, out of nowhere.
And of course it gets weirder, scarier and more amazing from that point on. Skål! -

This song is amazing with and without lyrics!

To be honest, I thought it was easier compared to some of the other song on Pet Sounds. Its just SUPER melodic. But it is not a easy song.

Yes!! You can hear the SMiLE recordings right around the corner at 1:48 - the rollercoaster into the untold recesses of Brian's inner mind begins there. No lights in the tunnel, just the most awesome strangeness. Lest anyone try to write it off as a 'standard' instrumental -- there's that ONE flattened bass note, which stays flattened, signifying that however 'fun' it is, something is also VERY wrong! Of course, on this hinges the tension of the music and the mystique of the album.

A mesmerizing instrumental track that gives no hint of the melody line but when you do hear them together, it's magic. Brian Wilson is my favourite genius of all time.
