Tesla Model X rear cargo space
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Demonstration of how much rear cargo space there is in Tesla Model X. Because the 2nd row doesn't fold, and becuase the 3rd row takes up some space, the luggage space in Model S is actually better than in Model X.

thanks a lot for the video Bjorn what would you choose between 6 or 5 seats configuration?
-
There is an option on the 17 inch touchscreen that will allow you to move the middle seat of the second row all the way up.
-
Model X is SNUV (Sport NOT Utility Vehicle) or S(Limited)UV
Can't fold 2nd row of seats, can't use roof for any utility. All seats, all doors electric... for car that relies solely on battery seems to be wasting a lot of electricity.
I wonder if people would be interested in cheaper Model X with regular (no falcon doors) non-electric four doors, foldable non-electric seats. That should save some weight and perhaps extend the range... -
Have you figured out the cargo space behind the 3rd Row in Optimus Prime yet?
-
If you need a van on a regular basis, buy a van (or wait until Tesla launches a van). Alternatively, purchase the Model X with a trailer hitch, and use a trailer when needed.
-
dude, I really like your Tesla's videos. you did so detail on very parts, it really help me a lot to decide which one is fit for me. so THANK YOU!
-
So I take it Camper Mode is not possible in the Model X. :(
-
I'd like all but the driver seat to be easily removable; much like how the second and third row are latched in minivans. Electronics could be connected with a plug per seat. Unplug, unlatch, lift and store. Then you have a lot more room for cargo.
-
Do you know if it is safe to transport items on the second row seats while they're all the way forward and tilted forward?
-
Very nicely explained. Thank you! :)
-
Guess you'll need a trailer for the large Nimber tasks.
-
Why don`t they have a 2 seater option?
-
hey bjorn, i like your videos. you do a good job. as long as you don't put any little kids in front of a moving vehicle I'll be happy. ;)

For me the Model X is a mistaken response to all the other carmakers producing so called Sport Utility Vehicles. That market was ginned up originally to avoid some U.S. regulatory rules that applied to automobiles and not to utility truck-type vehicles, I. E. Pickup trucks that first found use with farmers. The pickup frame with a car body extended to where the bed used to be then seemed to fill the function of a car, while costing less(before this one) to build. The marketing geniuses sold the idea so well that folk who would never soil themselves gardening, drive on dirt farm roads or be seen driving an estate/station wagon believe they have to have one of these, and it has to fit in a garage.
Poor Tesla has had to contend with this demand. I think it was "A bridge Too Far" for them. -
I like the 6 seat better
-
I placed an order and I only have a few more days to make up my mind but I don't like the storage space the way it looks now
The configurator says maximum storage space is without the third row of seats what do you think .? -
My question is if you only order five seats do you get more luggage space where the other seats would fold up is that going to be extra space?
-
You have a +650hp 7 seater and you complain?
-
Since MX depth is same height like MS, I am still not make conclusion MS or MX. MX Cargo doesn't appeal for me. Only thing it good for changing baby diaper with standing stand.

I'm teared between 6 seats or 5 seats...
You show that the middle 2nd row seat doesnt go all the way forward, which eats cargo.
So the 5 seat configuration doesnt seem the BEST option, even if you gain the space from the removed 3rd row seats.
Which make me think: Is it possible to get the 6 seats configuration, and manually remove the 3rd row seats (unscrewing bolts and nuts) to gain that space for rare Cargo requirements? then place them back again afteward?
How are the 3rd row seats fixed to the flooring? can you check this out?
thanks.
