He's always been very good looking. Whyyyyy would anyone want to dub his accent? It's wonderful. The only celebrity English accent I don't hate.
-
The dub is an improvement. Ha, ha!
-
Actually he had extended role in this show. This is just a small bit. I'm watching this episode right now.)
-
Idris Elba as a pizza delivery man? Cool.

The voiceover work boarders on "Hercules in New York"

One, don't you ever forget to tip me again. Two, don't you EVER forget to tip me again.

what a homage

ah ok. not sure if i can see him as a doctor who or batman to be honest. he's too "smooth" for that. Bond I'd like though
-
There have been persistent rumors / fan casting campaigns to get Idris Elba to play everyone from Doctor Who, James Bond, and Batman among others this past year.
-
for?

His accent still sucks, he seemed to pull it off in The Wire, then somehow forgot how to do it in Prometheus and I have no idea what he's doing in Pacific Rim.
-
It wasn't American enough, all the other characters are supposed to have American accents
-
Seems he got a lot of good space driving practice by delivering pizzas before taking over Prometheus
-
The way I see it, though, there are a lot of people in America who emigrated from other countries, so it wouldn't be uncommon to have an American with a British accent. And in futuristic space shows, all of humanity is usually living together in one country anyways. It's also a shame to deny anyone Idris Elba's voice, it's fantastic.

They chose Peter Capaldi and Ben Affleck and Daniel Craig over him?!?

String! STRING! Where the fuck's my pizza?! STRING! WHERE'S MY PIZZA?!

Idris Schwarzenegger.

Idris Schwarzenegger.

his american accent was terrible at that point so they did a voice over, he said this on david lettermen i think
-
He said in an interview that apparently his american accent sounded so terrible on this show that they used someone for voiceovers. The funniest part is they used the guy who did the voice overs for the german version of the show. That's how bad his american accent was :D
