9 years? Not that long its 141.8 Million Miles from the sun, it takes roughly 234days to reach mars at an abrupt speed of 17,000 mph
-
and space X will take us to mars in 9 years and they want to make it affordable to go to Mars
-
think about it what if the "plan b" backfires

To Frank Spange in particular. God WILL NOT look after us. There are many civilisations on earth that have disappeared through the centuries as our archaeologists can show. I'm sure that they prayed to their gods too. Besides there is no God (wow, that's inflammatory) !
Space exploration at this point is extremely important for our survival. One day we will run out of the resources that we depend on so it'd in our interest to find asteroids, smaller planets that we could mine. Plus the endeavour to put man into space will bring about many spin off developments which will be useful to mankind, and this has already happened. I know there'll be people out there going ooh, mining, how can you suggest or countenance that. I'd like to go where no man has gone before and exploration has never been without its perils, people have always died exploring but we did it anyway. If all the countries on earth forgot their petty squabbles and united their cooperation and finances under the banner of the human race we'd get there much faster and the benefits in every way could be huge to us as a species. At the rate that we're using up our resources and with the unfettered population growth continuing it'll all be a mute point down the road, unless we stop being scared of space exploration for whatever reason and go for it. -
Somebody is using a handicap to promote idiotic propaganda, beautiful!

Now professor Hawking controls his speech computer with his cheek muscles as all hand muscles has failed......Such a rough life for a man with enormous disabilities. But he gets by for a person like him ,he attain a lot of goals in his career.
-
Professor Hawking, a man who has a mind of genius, but he is incapacitated due his Motor Neuron Disease and paralyzed in most of his body..... Thanks to his high tech wheel chair he can talk using what little movement he has in the little finger in his hand to select the words he wants on voice computer and translate what is shown the screen to human speech. Sounds robotic, but that is better then not been able to talk at all!
A cosmologist who doesn't let his disability stop him from doing his work he has researching to understand Space, Black holes etc. a brilliant man, willing to move mountains to understand the earth and beyond.
I am not sure he doing now, but I have great respect for a man with so much issues and yet still he seems to be able to do what he does best! -
It's 2014 and Stephen Hawking still sounds like an Atari ST

totally contradictory to the flat earth theory. if we are truly living on a flat earth and it is not round like we have been told, then mr. hawking is not a genius and has no clue what he is talking about. just saying.
-
We can be a lot more if we would change the socioeconomic structure to access over property and scientific reasoning instead of the old religious condemning kind which "the law" is based on.

Thank You Mr. Hawking.

Hans Rosling demonstrates that the population is going to level out at 11 millions and stay there as technology advances. Then Elon Musk say that midcentury the population will be hacked and we need mooooore babies. Stephen Hawking says we are simply to many for this planet. So who's right?
I do not see how habitting other planets is a solution. If we cannot preserve our own life on such a lush and providing home, how on earth do we expect to make it in a more hostile environment like Mars. It just doesn't make sense. -
Anyone know much about Astronomy? Elements? and Physics? email me imswixa@gmail.com

Our best hope...ELON MUSK..!!!!

Won't happen.

I am not a genius. I dropped outta high School and got my GED. I make minimum wage. But EVEN I don't underestimate how big our planet is. We've only explored 5% of our ocean and our resources that we supposedly are using too much of seem to be lasting a lot longer than anyone could ever predict. So Stevie needs to get shotguned and relax.

Space, The Final Frontier.

I don't want the mankind to colonize other worlds. The human should become extinct. Human is a threat to the universe. Humans are cruel, selfish and barbarous. We are cruel to our own kind. We fight and kill each others over resources. Our hunger for materialism and ego fulfillment knows no bound. Every where we go, we destroy because of greed. Humans should become extinct.
