About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
shows how to set up a "mini solar power system". will run small lights, fans, air compressors and other low power AC and DC items. also will charge most electronic portable devices (tablets, phones, laptops). consists of one 15 watt solar panel, one 12ah battery and a 70 watt inverter. total cost is about $100.00. great starter system. very lightweight sealed battery. system will also charge rechargeable AA AAA C D and 9V batteries (using standard battery charger). note that most items shown in video can run for several hours on the one battery. to run larger items add another battery to it. just hook it in parallel.

Am I right that it takes about 2.5 average days to charge a 12AH 12V battery with a 15W panel?
Assuming that an average day of the year produces an equivalent of 4 direct hours of sunlight. -
Your BRILLIANT and Handsome ,Thank you for taking the time to post Your excellent teaching videos.I could watch them all day.

I have been a follower of yours for a very long time. Love some of the stuff that you. I was wondering how many watts can it take? I was wondering if I could charge a heater of 750 to 1500 watts? If not, what should I do to invert a higher watts?

Hi, thanks for the great video... everything was straight forward but I'm having problems finding the exact same battery as you used 12v 12ah... can you provide link to the one you're using or just recommend one for first project. I just want to hookup two motion censor LED light bulbs in the shed/dog in the evening... about 8 hours... thanks very much for your time.

During the winter months, I usually power a small space heater in my room. Thanks to videos that you and others have posted, I can actually see basic Harbor Freight 45 watt solar panel kits powering up electronic devices. For a space heater (12v 60Hz 1500 watts), how many 15 watt panels and batteries would I need for one hour of usage?
I might be thinking incorrectly, but does having more solar panels just mean you can charge up the battery faster? If that is the case, then spending money on multiple batteries might work in my case. -
thanks for sharing such a nice video :)

Are you using a 12v battery? Would the system power 2 small fountain pumps, like 5.5 watts each? Could you use an adapter with 2 outlets in the inverter? Thanks again!
