Known as the "driest place on earth" and having one of the clearest night skies in the world. The Atacama Desert, just west of the Amazon rain forest and over the Andes mountain range(longest mountain range in the world) which is one of the reasons why the desert gets nearly 0 rain and the amazon rain forest receives at least 80In./year. You get weak weather systems from the west of the desert which barely has enough moisture after going over the Chilean coastal range to build up any pressure for rain . And the major weather systems from the east can't hold enough pressure up and over the altitudes of The Andes to produce any noticeable rainfall . Now that's unique .
