Stargazing: A Guide To The Heavens
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
this is one of my favorite Outer space programs. it's a quick style documentary. No interviews, just narration and information. It's similar to Cosmos with Carl Sagan. This series deals with many different subjects, beginning with Constellations. But Most importantly, try listening to this while falling fast asleep, and you'll find that it's a perfect relaxation video , and meditation video.

Just the video i wanted to see!

Very educative. The last two are the same about comets but it's my favorite of the three. I seriously learned a lot, never even heard of the Hale Bopp until this show, how embarrassing!
Respect for the edumacational hookup! -
I love this calm, information based delivery. None of that 'extreme' production value that happens so often these days.

I'm a novice at stargazing and I've been looking for a program like this for a long time! It serves as a great guide, to help me get a general picture of the night sky. Thanks for posting!!

I wasn't quite sure myself what he was referring to when he said a small, moderate, and large size telescope. Is he speaking from the viewpoint of an amateur or a professional?Since he is speaking about things a professional would already know he must be speaking to amateurs and neophytes. In that case when he says a small telescope these would be telescopes whose apertures are less than 4". Moderate telescopes would range from 4" to 10" and large telescopes are apertures greater than 10". The greater the aperture the more detail you will see, but even a small telescope at 50 times magnification will reveal the moons of Jupiter and some banding too. I have two small telescopes now, 80mm refractor, a 90mm Maksutov, and a moderate 130mm Newtonian telescope.

Just absolutely enchanting... What a wonderful post. Thank you TopGameLord. I'm always amazed at how the ancients documented all of these things without modern equipment. Let's pray that mankind can only touch these distances with his eyes - if he gets the opportunity to get his hands into the workings of these beautiful places ... well... in a few hundred thousand years Mars will look like Chicago or Detroit... Awful thought.

what is the definition of "moderate" telescope in this setting?

2:49 The Draco has always been my favorite constellation. I still look up in awe every night I see it

I'm out there tonight the sky should be clear and have a look for a few galaxies Thanks its AMAZING

There is not a single spectacular object anywhere near us, one we could see in full colour. Just bad luck. But you would like some things, such as the Crab Nebula, at a respectable distance.

Just do it! :D

Is this a fact? No camera tricks? If it is, *wow* It's amazing, There are many planets that are out there, that explains our motivation to build Extraordinary machines, So humans can go and explore other planets.etc.

Wonder how many other people went to Amazon to buy a telescope.
