WATCH IN HD! Campaign maps are always a treat in SWBF2, there are tons of mods and maps out there but very few every include an engaging and fun campaign mode alongside them. Even rarer is an entire map pack complete of such maps, with only the likes of Dark Times II and the Aldura Campaign attempting such a feature. What Lorul1 brings us here today is an incredible entry into that category. This is the BRAND NEW Battles of the Storm map pack by Lorul1 which offers 5 all-new Campaign maps telling the story of his fanon Clone legion, the Storm Squadron 70. Not only does the map pack offer 5 all new maps, it also adds tons of new features including new units for both CIS and Republic including new playable Jedi, pilot vehicles during ground battles, first person vehicle cockpits, multi-storey buildings which make use of a fantastically innovative elevator system, some brilliant scheduled animations and flybys during battle and finally, moving and fully destructible capital ships in space battles. Wow, that's a lot of content. The gameplay also features the popular over-the-shoulder viewpoint as seen in the Clone Wars Era Mod BETA. This is the fourth map in the pack, Mygeeto: Storm Force. With the Cataclysm Droids emerging on Kashyyyk, the troops of Storm Squadron 70 have been withdrawn to immediately assist the war on Mygeeto where the majority of Cataclysm Droids have been dispatched. In order to break through the CIS blockade, Squadron 70 have been joined by Captain Xantron and his pilots. Just as well, as they'll need all the help they can get with the presence of the CIS' brand new capital ship - clad with cataclysm armour! When playing as the Republic, you will receive objectives from Squad Intelligence to fulfill the mission and break through the blockade through to Mygeeto. The map is fairly large for a space battle and supports the mod's star feature: moving and fully destructible capital ships! Just like the other maps in the pack, the map also has some impressively scripted animations such as the hyperspace jump of the CIS Cataclysm Ship at the end of the battle. Both CIS and Republic sides have been revamped, the Republic are now complete with new skins and units forming up Storm Squadron 70. New units include the Clone Acolye, Jedi Pilots, Captain Xantron and Clone Commander Lorul who is armed with new weapons including the Thermal Rifle 2.1 and DC-15S Republic Commando Pistol. The CIS also features new units including B2-RP battle droids as seen in early seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars! All in all, this is a fantastic map pack and features some ground-breaking new features that warrant a download alone. Go ahead and check it out now! Note: All mods are for PC only!
