Night shift on the bridge. The captain and flag officers have all retired to their quarters, so it's just us ensigns holding down the fort. I hear the familiar "boop, boop" of the com officer in the corner as she practices writing an obscure dialect of Klingon to pass the time. The engineer checks the warp coil alignment for the third time tonight. And then there's that soothing warble… what is that warble? I've always wondered what made that sound. Never-the-less, it is peaceful here with absolutely no chance of alien attack or holodeck malfunction in the foreseeable future. Trying to do a bunch of geology studying. this has been helping over past couple days. the beeps keep my brain awake cuz it cant seem to find a pattern to the beeps. It seems random. everything else about this is good too. favorite one so far.

This sounds exactly like the Next Generation ships, I love it.

There's something so special to me about TNG. Maybe it's just because I was a kid at the time, but I think it's more than that. They had a great balance between being clunky and too slick, so the sounds were really natural but well-produced and calming. This sound really does a great job of capturing that. Even though there was some death-defying obstacle every week, the atmosphere aboard the ship was really wonderful.
