But the Sun is tiny compared to the solar system which is tiny compared to the distance to the next star. Oh, did we mention that there are over 100 billion stars in our galaxy (which is about 100,000 light years in diameter) which is one of hundreds of billions of galaxies in just the observable universe (which might be infinite for all we know). Don't feel small. We find it liberating. Your everyday human stresses are nothing compared to this enormity that we are a part of. Enjoy the fact that we get to be part of this vastness! About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content. For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything Subscribe to Khan Academy’s Cosmology & Astronomy channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChNPnEkW8LYZ5Rwi8_A2-DA?sub_confirmation=1 Subscribe to Khan Academy: https://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=khanacademy

Aren't the stars red in the star field because they are moving towards us? Doppler kinda i saw that in another context... But can't that be the case?
-
In the video you said that the light left the eagle nebula 7000 years ago, because it is 7000 LY away. Isn't it less than 7000 LY away and because the universe is expanding it seems 7000 LY away?
-
But what of Juzlo's right to express himself?
-
alright, coming from someone who is not religious in the slightest, was that really necessary? If he wants to believe God made this all, and express himself, just let him

Nevermind about that pillar, You said it probably doesn't exist anymore. SMH, science!
-
You said that pillar is 7 light years tall. How does someone get info on know that?? Wouldn't you have to measure it at all angles, to make sure its not as wide as it is tall? if that makes any sense.lol

which is approximately 24,500,000,000,000 miles away!!!!!!!

Alpha Centauri?
-
I'm sharing your videos on facebook, I love them
-
red stars could be a nearby red dwarf! also there really arnt any green stars. not something i could explain very well though
-
@eliot0x103 well it is the nearest star.... but if u mean excluding our star then the nearest is Proxima Centauri and its more close to about 4.5 light years away.
-
@eliot0x103 I see.. thanks. I must have missed it.
-
@tanhuiz Just as what is said in the video; Nearest star = closest to Earth but excluding our Sun in this case.
-
@eliot0x103 What do you mean by "nearest star", is it another galaxy or something?
-
@silencedfable Astronomy, please. Astrology is horoscopes and more BS.
-
@daasianboi I think you misunderstood me :), obviously I know that, what I meant is the 4 light years to the nearest star(excluding our star), perhaps i misunderstood your first comment though :P
-
@eliot0x103 omfg didnt you know that the sun is a star?
-
@daasianboi No. From here to the nearest star(not our sun) is 4 light years.
