Just saw it a few minutes ago from Las Vegas. I'm surprised at how fast it's going.

That's not the space station. It's a plane idiot.

No flat earthers here? How disappointing. They always come up with fascinating explanations. Such as: "this pictures are fake" ,"it's not ISS, it's a weather balloon", "You are an agent hired by NASA to sow disinformation" . Or maybe your video is the one that brings them back down to (round) earth :)

When I go up into the mountains I see lots of satellites through out the night, how do you know what ones are which?
-
being there are so many satellites how do you know one from another, did you find the cordinants or something?
-
Thank you, Seth. From San Francisco I captured the ISS on my Samsung S-4 phone in video mode. Its that bright. I am familiar with our air traffic and corridors and knew it was something special. After downloading the video to my laptop I found the Spot the Space Station site and confirmed the direction, time, and azimuth. This was the ISS for certain. It appeared to be the same color and size as Mars in the night sky but the speed was impressive and I liked the way it got dim, then gone as it went into the Earth's shadow.
Astroviewer.net is also a nice site for the ISS appearance information. -
NICE work, Seth what kind of video setup were you using?
-
I saw the iss lastnite.. Not too far from the iss crossing there was also a meteor that zoomed across the sky at a much faster speed. I was like wow.
-
thanks i saw it today just like you said on all points of your discription
-
So wait... you mean to tell me that Earth isn't flat??? :)
-
WTH. That could have been anything. Why cant he zoom in on it?
-
Yes I agree with jaybow the NASA website has changed, but this video still helped me because it's still nasa.gov but the top has International Space Station which you have to click on, then there is a Spot the Station box on the page.
