I kind of feel like the failure chance for SpaceX's first Mars mission is probably pretty high. Also, I'm not really sure how they are making it economical. Wouldn't SpaceX lose money by going to Mars?

Space Hoax

holy shit, i want to watch the live mission

Add..a problem recently put up again is that astronauts begin losing eyesight after 6 months, have memory loss and basicly start losing their minds. How are we going to exist on Mars if we can't see and we're crazy even before we get there. Robots first.. colony set up and maybe cybervision implants but how to correct the dementia.. any ideas? Brain implants? ..we're not ready I think. How did Flash Gordon manage it. lol

Too much work for 2 years, they will delay it for sure to 2020 or more 2025, space exploration have this delays almost in every important mission.

I have the dreadful suspicion that we won't ever find the telltale sign of biosynthesized oxygen. It's going to turn out that life is rare and that it is up to humanity to spread life across the cosmos. That's a real bummer because I was looking forward to humanity shortsightedly using up nonrenewable resources and then nuking itself, but we may not have that luxury.

Good thing Elon is spending money going to Mars and not on his failing car business. Either way the taxpayer ends up footing the bill. To the Moon.....err Mars!
-
is it legal to try to build your own ship and go to mars
-
omg i had a nasa ad at the start gg

If we know anything about SpaceX and Elon Musk, launching Red Dragon to Mars in 2018 will be one of the test demonstration flights to certify the Falcon Heavy for use.

Isn't it more important to know whether a planet or moon can support our life and food (crops, etc.) instead of whether it now or in the past has/had life on or in it?
-
Trappist the type of star too.....

All I think about when hearing "ultracool dwarf" is Gimly with sunglasses.
-
try to say "supersonic retro propulsion" really fast
-
love the video, but...so misleading therm; "habitable", for whom?, when it's 40 LIGHT YEARS away. unless we invent some serious propulsion system, there are NO "habitable"planets anywhere! and if it's already inhabited... ... well, i hope they are not much smarter than bacteria.
-
best part about dim red dwarfs is that once we do find a habitable planet around them, we're set until pretty much the end of the universe, because it's going to outlast all bigger, hotter stars. and it's also more stable usually.

NASA VS SPACEX

It feels like I've already seen this episode?
