WRONG!!! the falcon 9 heavy is not the most powerfull rocket ever made, thats still the saturn 5. and dragon cant take any astronauts to mars, it will go there mainly just for testing. the vehical taking people to mars will be a rocket twice as big as the falcon9 heavy. and the mars decent vehical wasnt even shown on paper yet. how can cnbc get it so wrong, who is responsible for this? they should get their research right. hiw amberacing for such a large news organication.

They didn't propose to send humans to mars in 2018. They proposed a unmanned landing of their dragon 2 capsule. SpaceX are targeting to send humans to mars in 2025.

Dragons will stay on mars aš a.backup payload.. They will send 3 dragons, and then the will launch 100 people with orbit refueling rocket ;-)

A couple of quibbles... 1. The Falcon Heavy will not be the "most powerful rocket ever produced" (that would be the Saturn-V), but it will be the most powerful rocket currently flying, at roughly twice the payload capacity of the Delta-IV Heavy; 2. NASA is not planning a manned mission to Mars until after 2030, but they are sending another Curiosity-style rover in 2020, with several other missions planned after that.
