Watched this landing live from a cold dark UK in the middle of the night. Sadly it was the highlight of my Christmas...

YEEEEEHAAAA
-
Yepp, that was about how I felt watching the webcast :-)
-
haha i feel your excitement Mike! stayed up and watched it from the UK! RAD!
-
I wish I could watch the press release after the landing. It's just private to staff right now.
-
haha I share your excitement Mike, I watched the replay about 10 minutes after the live event had ended while traveling in the car at the middle of the night here in Spain.. I think we all knew sooner or later this was going to happen... but it still impacted us as if we didn't see it coming.. so much was resting on this event.. it means so much for the next few decades and beyond :)

That was truly awesome! Space X does these ground breaking things at a fraction of NASA 's budget. I think that says a lot.
-
I actually missed it live, but still didn't know they did it. So I watched the entire stream and was so excited the weird thing about it was the confidence in this flight it almost seemed in the bag as I was watching I just knew this was it. Good job Space X cant wait for 2nd stage landing and Falcon Heavy!

Dude Brush Your teeth....You teeth looks so yellow......

Kudos to the SpaceX team. Nobody has ever done anything like this; not the Russians, not the Chinese, definately not NASA. What an amazing display of imagination and engineering; to successfully put eleven satelites into low earth orbit and then return the first stage (normally just thrown away into the Atlantic Ocean after use) to a soft landing; where it can be used again is truely extrordinary! Only in America

You have some mental issue? why you shake your head so much?. I find spacex landing is gimmick and worthless. you can't even use it for space travel to experience zero gravity because you might burn your ass before you get launched. Also their previous trials they can't land properly. I find landing is reverse launch with same setup for 100meters and re used it here. They are connected with NASA and they had to show progress and they are actually stuck. NASA will make all private space company into to do errand for them doing this kinda hoax gimmicky. Just use your brain once in a while. it helps.
-
that idiot ruined it
-
I managed to limit myself to watching the landing only 17 times in the first 4 minutes after I found a video of the landing.
-
Something I just wondered, once they start flying a rocket multiple times, will the stage just have a serial number, or will it have a name, like how they name airplanes? Should we start making a list of possible names, in case the public gets to name a few?

It wasn't that long ago that the Grasshopper prototype was testing this concept, going to higher and higher altitudes then landing upright. Then there was that recent attempt to land at sea that didn't go well. I did not expect the safe return of a first stage from a routine mission so soon. Congratulations, SpaceX!
