WE ARE GO FOR THROTTLE UP IN T-MINUS TEN SECONDS AND COUNTING!
-
How do you get to orbit altitude? Flatearther : Go straight up till you reach the dome and make a right.
-
I hope i have enough money one day to go on one of the private space flights. or just get the chance to go with NASA
-
Ellison Onizuka who perished in the Challenger Disaster flew on this flight.

Why does the shuttle never go straight up? It ends up flying horizontal until it is beyond our horizon. How do rockets work in space without atmosphere to push off of?
-
Thank you - grazy!
Wishes from vienna! -
can i use this for a website for school

I recognize this clip from the IMAX film "The Dream is Alive" which was produced in 1985-1985. I saw the film countless times in 1985-1986 in the IMAX Theatre in Los Angeles. So imagine seeing this launch on a 10 story IMAX screen with 16 track surround sound system filling the theatre. Also worth noting is what is called the "twang effect" which is the movement of the entire "stack" (shuttle boosters and external tank) forward at the nose about three feet when the main engines (on the shuttle) start and come up to 100+ or their rated thrust. You hear the "creaking" in this clip - of the stack bending - then just as it relaxes back to position - the solids are ignited and you are on your way. Watch any shuttle launch closely and you will see the twang effect in the few seconds before liftoff.,

Why the phony audio track?
-
Got goosebumps when the engines ignited and when the shuttle began its ascent

You never get sick of watching something like that it would be an amazing ride let alone very scary and not only that all the great human beings right throughout history who have designed invented and proved others wrong there's not anything you can do with the power of belief in yourself the few that have been into outer space knowing they are so close to creation and the infinite universe I would give anything to experience the same thing like going to Mars a one way trip to put your feet where human history will become the future amazing.

That must be fireproof metal
-
0:17 , go for main engine start.... KABOOM :3 like that part :P
