Even if mission control and the crew both knew there was a problem with the wing what could they have done to save the shuttle.
-
So when will we have space craft they take off and land vertically?
-
WHAT EVERY BODY SEEMS TO MISS IS THAT THE FOAM SHOULD HAVE NOT COME OFF IN THE FIRST PLACE.IF ONE STAYS ON THEY ALL SHOULD. SHODDY FIXING OF THAT FOAM CAUSED THE DISASTER

NASA has to learn a lot from Russian space craft technology. Why NASA is still depentend on Soyuz space craft to fly US astraunauts to the International Space Station?

42:00 "COULD ANYTHING HAVE BEEN DONE?" OF COURSE! Have crew get out and do a space-walk to check the exterior. Once they found the hole, call to report it. The Atlantis was getting set for a mission in March; expedite that process and have the Atlantis to save the crew and with tools/people to fix it. Once fixed, send all crew members home in Atlantis except one (who is willing to risk his/her life) to fly Columbia back singlehandedly.

All they needed was a little ten dollar mirror in the corner of the window so they could see the wing, just like on the Apollo command modules.
-
got to admit, driving a car is more RISC than a shuttel
-
biggest problem is money and time ???? time is money. why does people have to die to learn.
-
20:21 they're fucking standing up! This whole thing is a fucking joke, the acting is horrendous, I can't watch a minute longer!

I like the guy at 31:50, who says " Ice Maybe". The shuttle is glowing red hot with the leading edge temp of over 2,000 degrees. But this guy thinks ice is coming of something that hot. Not to mention the chunks flying off are clearly glowing hot. I have never seen ice glow red hot before.

Low budget props...

Could damage to the leading edge left wing even be fixed while in orbit? I don't think space shuttles even have EVA possibilities, but I could be entirely wrong...

Kalpana Chawla was an Indian. Wow now that's a surprise.
-
"The size of a 50cm TV screen" as opposed to the size of a 50cm book..
-
I hate how they included actors in this.

LAUNCH was the most dangerous part of a Shuttle flight, not reentry. Ask Jim Oberg.
