Reality is a bitch, isn't it?
-
00:55 Holy shit! That was horrific! That guy's expression was just haunting...
-
What does "no downlink" mean? Does that just mean they have lost communication with the shuttle?
-
1.37 onwards. Look at the way he's breathing! That's real shock and fear.
-
For those that don't know the 'RSO' is the Range Safety Officer. He's responsible for initiating the auto-destruct during an anomaly to prevent a possible impact with populated areas. He's the one that reported that the vehicle had exploded because he had just executed the self-destruct of the two SRBs that were flying off course still under power...

why is the video having cuts? not long though but still cuts

Thanks for posting.

i use those headsets for air traffic control :)

So far 4 Challenger Hoaxers had the misfortune of being thrown into space without the benefit of a spacesuit by Captain Ginyu!

Love the actual audio quality, what sucks is the "gaps" in the video. What is being hidden?
-
Um, what exactly is this? All this footage was originally shot on video, with good audio. It looks like it's all just been Adobe After-Effected to make it look & sound like film (shaky camera, film edit flashes, staticky audio etc.) Bad taste if so...

Great except for the NASA cover up on the deaths of the astronauts .. They died 3 mins and 45 secs seconds later after the explosion when the shuttle crew cabin hit the water intact.. Human remains placed in garbage bins for transport and refusal to give the families peace by never releasing autopsy reports on the cause of death (which was not the explosion)... During the nearly 4 minute decent they activated their emergency oxygen supply known as "PEAPS" which has to be done manually and all had been depleted of the amount of oxygen that would be used in those last minutes.. NASA knew where the shuttle cabin was but stalled for weeks on recovery even though a Coast Guard vessel was within one mile and told they were in the wrong position.. The whole thing was and is still disgusting.. Shame on NASA

It's film guys. You know..... film? The stuff they used before video? It's a piece of history.
I think the guy next the the FD gets up and locks the doors. All the questions do the various personnel and CNN had the answer all along. I had actually deduced what happened just from CNNs video the day it happened. And I was 15. You can see the "flare" as it developed on the video (not from the reverse angel, from the CNN live footage). It appears to come from the main engines but that is due to the angle. It's the same color as SRB flame. Checked by "space books" and deduced that a joint had failed. -
0:58 - I think this guy's reaction was the only one in the whole room. The rest might as well have been watching paint dry.

Does anyone know where I can find a high quality, uncut copy of the flight controller loop from this flight?
-
2:05 Am i seeing a flat screen?
-
I remember watching this live as a 16 year old. Utterly devastating. 3:56 flight director knows all is lost. I find this disaster heartbreaking even now.

Too bad the video have cuts, would love to see it "real time"
