Space Quest 3 - Ways to Die Part 1 (With Sound)
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Half of the ways to die in Space Quest 3: The Pirates of Pestulon. (Junk Freighter to Monolith Burger) MrWhitman could only get the PC Speaker working when he did the original videos, so here's a redone version using Munt, the MT-32 Emulator. Requested by KiethSomataw99. Thanks to MrWhitman for making the original SQ3 Ways to Die videos.

I love after a certain number of deaths, the game gets tired of creating unique death messages and instead straight away mocks you "for being a real hoot".
Ah, classic Sierra cheekiness. But I still can't believe this game was for teenagers. It's still extremely gory. -
I never got why 2:45 ends up killing him like that. Maybe it's just the perspective but it doesn't seem that high up, especially not high enough to bust his head open like that.
Ah well, I suppose it's not that big of a deal. Great video! -
Oh my god, I never knew this game was so violent.
-
the second death was so graphic they censored it

The first death is a very metal way to die
-
Uh, stepping off the ledge is ONE way to die.

6:28 Thor mysteriously attacks him with his lightning bolt...

+jtd786 What kinds of synthesizer are those sounds from?

Congratulations on your recent death!

4:52 was what Yahtzee was referencing, in case you were wondering...
-
Seems like they got a bit lazy with the death messages around the world of wonders...
-
True, though it was never corrected, even in the later QFG collection.
-
I believe that particular instance is a glitch, not an intended dead end.

I never minded the deaths. But some of their games allowed you to continue playing when they were unwinnable. An example: in QFG4, you must speak to a certain character at a certain time within the span of a few days in order to obtain an item you will need at a later point (people who have played it know what I'm talking about). You are never told there is a time limit, and it is extremely easy to overlook. I did, and I kept playing for hours until I read on the 'Net that my game was screwed.

I love the game over photo when you fall so fucking much! LMAO

I'm pretty sure I did answer...maybe it just didn't get through. Anyway, my main computer broke down recently, so I won't be able to upload anything until it gets fixed. I still have all the files stored away, though. Sorry for the delay.
