(Yes I know, I forgot to set my recorder to make it full screen...) Space Quest: Chapter I - The Sarien Encounter is a video game released in October 1986 and quickly became a hit, selling in excess of 100,000 copies (sales are believed to be around 200,000 to date, not including the many compilations it has been included in). Space Quest was the brainchild of Sierra programmers Scott Murphy and Mark Crowe, who had worked on prior titles like King's Quest II, but had not designed their own game yet. According to Murphy, "At that time (1985), everything at Sierra was so somber and had an almost medieval atmosphere. So we decided 'Why not make a fun, silly game?'" (Wikipedia)

I remember when I used to play SQ series in the years 2000 and 2001 (which was already way out of date by then), I was 5 and 6, and I especially loved the buttons bomb activation part where I had to press the numbers. I even always asked my brother to make a specific independent save file before that bit just so I could always go back and perform this scene. It made me feel like Pierce Brosnan in Goldeneye or something (and yes I was a fan of the James Bond movies, even back then). :D

Pretty sure the star generator design was taken from the genesis device in Star Trek II

Isn't it possible to get a magnet to use on the slot machine in the bar?

omg.... if you're going to eat during a walk through, mute it, and don't talk with your mouth full. I think I'm going to vomit. How gross.
