Space Quest 0 - Part 7: Buy Me a Thesaurus and Teach Me to Type
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Nathaniel plays and talks his way through Space Quest 0: Replicated, a fan-made PC prequel to the Space Quest series of comedic adventure games. Part 7 of 8. In this part, our intrepid adventurer walks into a force field repeatedly and dies. It's just as well, because the next several minutes involve a series of unsuccessful attempts at puzzle solving, all of which would totally work if this were real life. Roger feeds a creepy rock, swims under the force field, grabs a rock, and silently curses the text parser for not recognizing any possible permutation of "PICK UP WHATEVER THE HECK IT IS THAT'S AT MY FEET." The object, as it turns out, is a radio, which will be of use to Roger as soon as he's done getting shot by guards. With the help of the rock and the radio (that sounds like a Led Zeppelin song or something—"The Rock and the Radio"), our clever hero engineers a situation that allows him entrance into a secret facility, where he will be shot by more guards. This is the part where Roger discovers they're growing people in pods—it's a cloning facility, which he will stop at nothing to sabotage. As soon as he figures out how to communicate with the text parser. And stops misspelling everything. And stops getting shot by guards. Jeez, Roger. Brought to you by GameCola.net.

-
The green orb, I think, may be a reference to the movie "Heavy Metal." Or the comics of the same name. I'm not sure, really.
-

"vocabulary" isn't in my VOCABULARY!!!
-
I dunno if you're gonna read this, but I think that Green orb that dissolved the guy was a reference to the antagonist in that movie Heavy Metal.
