The zombie threat is defeated, infrastructure has collapsed, fuel is scarce, and scavenging means survival. Initially the Galaxy contains hundreds of fleets, each trying to survive. AI captains do everything the player can. The player is not special and is not the center of the Galaxy. As resource scarcity becomes critical, ships come into conflict just to survive. Factions may form for protection or split due to starvation. Old friends must become fodder. Stronger factions establish and defend territories, set up resource hubs, and establish star bases. Weaker factions may resort to banditry. Each captain is unique, persistent, and shapes the Galaxy. When factions meet, combat is usually the result. While the strategic side of SPAZ 2 is about exploration, territorial control, and faction building, the action side of SPAZ 2 is about ship construction, tactics, and salvage. Combat creates damaged ships and dead crew, but it also provides new salvaged parts. All the parts in SPAZ 2 are modular and randomly generated. If you see something you like, break it off an enemy, grab it with your tractor beam, and connect it to your ship. Ship construction can be done live during battles, though sometimes beating an enemy to death with their broken wing is also fun. Back on the star map, battles will attract other captains looking for salvage. Take your new parts and run. No doubt you invariably play as a pirate captain. I bet you need to steal supplies from other unsuspecting motherships, as real pirates do.

First one was pretty good, although I felt it overstayed it's welcome and dragged out the campaign. This second one has been SO long coming that I thought it might have ended up abandoned. I'll be interested to see how the early access pans out. So far planar combat in 3D doesn't appeal to me, just as it was a drawback of Rebel Galaxy.

Online Multiplayer Or Offline?

Just a random idea about the ship reassembly. Instead of making your ship tall and skinny with the wings and 3 lasers on the left and right side, make your ship short and wide with the wing lasers facing front and back. Take apart the whole ship. Stick the Hook/Nose cone on the Center module top then stick the Engine on the bottom of the Center module. Now connect the two modules with the four connection ports on the left and the right side of the Center Module. Now attach the six wings pieces to the 6 open ports. You should now have two front shooting lasers, two back shooting lasers, 1 left side shooting laser, and a 1 right side shooting laser. If the wings won't mount on top or rear, you can always buy and place then with 2 front facing weapons,rear facing weapons, or engines. Don't know if that would work but would give you extra fire power against enemies in front of you or chasing you. Thanks for the videos =)
