laking a habitable module like those of the ISS for long duration missions. Orion is a Earth Return Capsule not a spaceship on its own. -

This is unlikely to ever happen I'm afraid. Orion doesn't have much capability that SpaceX Dragon doesn't have and SpaceX is at least five years ahead. Once Dragon is flying, Orion will be cancelled.

I wish they focused less on the SLS and more on the missions... SLS is kind of a sad state of affairs to be faced with after the Shuttle and VentureStar and in a world where SpaceX exists.
