Subscribe Now! ► http://bit.ly/SubClevverMovies The long rumored sequel to Space Jam is finally happening and we’ve got the details for you right now! It looks like the Looney Tunes are officially headed back to the big screen for a new Space Jam movie. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Fast & Furious franchise director Justin Lin has signed on to develop and co-write a sequel to 1996’s Space Jam with an eye to direct. The sequel has long been rumored to be a starring vehicle for LeBron James ever since he signed a deal with Warner Brothers last year and now it looks like the basketball star has officially signed on to the project as well. No word yet on when we could see Space Jam 2 arrive in theaters, but what we do know is that in addition to Lin, the script is being written by Bad Words writer Andrew Dodge and Alfredo Botello who recently worked as a consultant on Lin’s upcoming Star Trek Beyond. The original Space Jam blended live-action and animation and starred Michael Jordan along with a collection of Looney Tunes characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig. The film earned $230.4 million worldwide and remains today the top grossing basketball movie of all-time. As for LeBron James, he recently received rave reviews for playing a version of himself in last year’s Trainwreck, so we’re confident he’ll be able to do it again for Space Jam 2. It will also be interesting to see how technological advances in the past twenty years will affect the sequel.
