This is a good exercise in programming. I am going to recreate this exactly on Linux with FreeBASIC.

Holy crap that final one moves fast.

I remember playing this at the bar on one of those ones where it was in the table

At least it made it, that's what matters, BTW, doesn't it look scary to you?

Best game ever, i named myself after it

One of my mates and meself cleared the whole 20 or so levels. The last 5 levels the monsters are on top of yer and there's a certain routine an order as to kill them off

The best game in the world spent many hours on this in the arcades ,even skipped off school to go on it. Addictive once you clear a few levels you can't stop.

@William Possidento - see the detailed comment on the other Space Invaders video where you asked this, but in short, there's no font as such. Things worked differently in those days. Those are just custom raster (bitmap) characters that were created as part of the game. You can find the exact patterns for those bitmaps on the computer archeology site if you're interested, along with a huge amount of other detail.

Can anyone name the font used for the score display? Thanks.

Three days ago I was watching Looney Tunes, and I started missing the role of the sounds in every action by the characters. For example, how each silent step is a violin or guitar tune, and also, like the speed up of the tunes as the end of the level is near.
