You should do a spacehulk 40k lore video, mainly cos I know fuck all about them and you the make the learing funny as fuck
-
Arch, next time please do find a way to dim the lighting effects. Had to watch most the video with my eyes closed from the muzzle flash. Also would recommend a seizure warning.
-
Hey arch, what's your thoughts on sanctum reach?

Terminators are tough but so are the Genestealers, the elite storm troopers of the Tyranid forces. They're just as tough and strong as Space Marines, faster and nimbler, but their carapace is not quite as durable as power armour. Nevertheless, Storm Bolter rounds do not have a 100% chance of killing a Genestealer on a hit, at all. Genestealers also have claws so sharp that they can slice through all of those layers of plasteel and ceramics in the Terminator armour.
The game quite accurately represents this, though I agree that the autoguns of the cultists do too much damage. That ought to be dialed down, I am sure it would be a simple numbers change in some file. -
It's in the bee-Ta.
-
That's sort of strange. I've played the beta and it hasn't crashed once on me. Now that might be because I have a good internet connection and a godlike computer.
-
it saddens me, that a game with such a promising concept is likely turning stale because of a lack of content. I saw some gameplay of the beta and i guess it's going to be pretty much No Man's Sky content-wise..

I don't get at all why they didn't make the doors more of a tactical decision. They even intended to. Did they really cut that for time or something? How much work is even involved with that?
Personally, I would've made it so that opening a door takes a few seconds but bashing it down is instant. If you bash it down though the door is open forever and cannot be closed. As long as a door remains in tact the enemies have to bash their way in, which for them (lacking power armour and whatnot) takes quite a while. If you lock the door then you yourself can no longer open it anymore either without bashing (and the bashing will take longer) but the enemies will have a harder time bashing it down as well. That would also require some team coordination, which I consider a good thing in such games. -
To unleash a bullet storm without tactic in a very very small space is exactly what fighting in a space hulk is like. I am not saying it is a fun thing to do, but still accurate. I mean a space hulk is a bunch of old imperial, elder, ork ect ships mushed together. Those ships were made for normal sized people, or atleast space marines who are not wearing a terminator armor. Atleast the biggest part of those ships are not made for it. I mean Terminators are basicly walking tanks, who are now walking through a abomination of a cathedral ship. Even that the tyranids can't open doors is accurate, but still they explicitly used the genestealers, which means taking the only kind of tyranid which can even cut through normal space marine armor without breaking a sweat. They should have made it, so they have to cut it to pieces or something like that.
I would say that they should have taken a look at the Dawn of War games a bit or the books, or anything for that matter that involves terminators. You could do so much with them in an open field, ruin or city. You could use the Jet packs, multi rocket launcher on the back, Orbital strikes and so much more. I mean there is a reason that normal space marines get send in big battalions or atleast big groups, and the terminators exclusively in 3-10 man teams. First. Those armors are relics that often can't be produced anymore, or are waaaaay to expensive, but foremost because they are one man armies. They can mount gatling guns that are usually on Landspeeders, can use rocket launchers that shoot up to 10 rockets ect. ect. One terminator does not break a sweat when fighting against 10+ enemies. The executions from Space marines are missing, which is a huuuuuuge oversight. Imagine a terminator tearing a tyanid in two, and then ripping the other ones head of in no time. Much much wasted potential here.
And just saying that a Terminator team, especially when visiting a space hulk are always, always teamed up with a Scriptor if not the Scriptor magister of that perticular chapter. I mean Space hulks are a huge mess that drifted through warp often for millenia before entering the materium again, so where is the scriptor in this game? I know that in the campaign you the player should be the scriptor, but even in the beta campaign videos I have not seen people use any psychic abilities. -
psykers criting your chest piece. one hit kill

You managed to be constructive while pointing out each and every issue i noticed too (i'd add that animations are weird and... well... amateurish). Well done you.
-
Never mind, I can see why the game is having problems. Looking into the developers this is their first FPS game. They're more known for Pro Cycling Manager series and Blood Bowl. Streum has one game to their name of note, that's from 1998.
-
Odd that a game running on UE4 is having this sort of problem. These types of problems would be found on Unity Engine.
-
Saint Crankshaft is displeased!
-
That thermal view or whatever really ruins it, it was great playing as a predator in AvP but to have it constantly is just bad design.
-
I could have told them that this is risky project and you are biting too much. I'm amazed that they did not forseen how flawed their design is. But once again, they just made Space hulk before with just about the same amount of strategy and variety.
-
They might got space hulk right, but not the terminators nor they have talent or knowledge about game design. It is funny really, people are so much demanding on the students or entry position specialists while veterans are doing rookie mistakes on daily basis...
-
When you watch the trailer where he takes a huge swing at the Tyranid! and then you play the game, you're just swinging it around like a wand.
-
Please Emperor give us an XCOM: Imperial Guard.

I don't know, the only real description of "sprinting" in terminator armor I have seen really implied that it was the wearer actively fighting and pushing the machine beyond it's limits and sounded like it took a lot of effort.
