I always thought it was weird these Sega games kept showing up on the Turbo when so many great PC Engine/Turbo games stayed in Japan.
-
One of the best tg16 games in my opinion .
-
Admittedly not the best version, but for the Turbo, this is phenomenal. It seems to be great with arcade ports, as After Burner, Fantasy Zone and Street Fighter II CE were all very good.
-
In Japan there were a lot more ports of not only Sega games but also Nintendo games to the PC-engine! Can you believe it? Because it's true!
I guess it was because you could have hudson games on Nintendo and Sega consoles, and for that reason they managed to liscence some Nintendo and Sega games to be made to the PC-engine...
This actually makes the PC-engine the better console choice in Japan until the SNES came out... -
Great stuff, as always. I'd love to hear your opinions on the rest of Sega's library on pc engine. Quite a few of them, maybe enough for an entire video? Shinobi, Altered Beast, Thunderblade, Afterburner 2, Golden Axe, Outrun, Power Drift etc.

Thank you Turbografx 16 for the turbo buton option for playing this game! xD

I have noticed years ago that the robot "doom" is a type of Dom from gundam.
-
Great review. Would be great if we saw Planet Harriers on next Gen consoles
-
It would be aweso
-
Holy shit, this is a great port when you consider all of the factors. Well done NEC
-
I've played several ports of Space Harrier, as it's one of my favorite games. The TG-16 version is very good ... maybe even great when you factor in the time of its release and the hardware its running on! I also agree that this port seems more challenging than others. Great review!

:-D Yes, the flux capacitor became so advanced that it learned to multiply and conquer other planets... :-P
-
Yeah, totally. It's a bit disorienting at times. :)
-
Ha!! 1.21 gigawatts!!! :)
-
Thanks for watching!
-
Better sprites than the Genesis but not enough speed
-
...and Tomoth the giant creepy...flux capacitor.
-
it's a straight port so you can't save. good luck though.
-
After Burner And Space Harrier for the 32x are exact replicas of the arcade. I owned a 32x for those games alone.
